Titanium oxide materials have multiple functions such as photocatalytic and photovoltaic effects. Ferroelectrics provide access to light energy conversion that delivers above-bandgap voltages arising from spatial inversion symmetry breaking, whereas their wide bandgap leads to poor absorption of visible light.
