The 31- and 32-nt 5'-fragment of Y4-RNA (Y4RNAfr) exists abundantly in human peripheral blood plasma. Although physiological roles of the plasma Y4RNAfr are not well established, its potential utility as a diagnostic/prognostic marker for acute coronary syndrome was suggested.
