Here, we report the synthesis and thermophysical properties of seven primarily aromatic, imidazolium-based polyamide ionenes. The effects of varied <i>para</i>-, <i>meta</i>-, and <i>ortho</i>-connectivity, and spacing of ionic and amide functional groups, on structural and thermophysical properties were analyzed.
