In this experiment, the effects of a sudden drop in salinity on the antioxidant defense system and related gene expression of the ark shell Scapharca subcrenata were examined. The sudden drop in seawater salinity after a rainstorm was simulated, and subsequently differentially expressed metabolic markers were identified by LC-MS non-targeted metabolomics.
