Genome Sequences of Seven Megrivirus Strains from Chickens in The Netherlands.

ABSTRACT: We report seven chicken megrivirus genome sequences identified in chicken fecal samples from a broiler farm in The Netherlands. The sequences were determined using metagenomic sequencing and would expand our understanding of the genome diversity of megriviruses.

Complete Genome Sequences of Seven Vibrio anguillarum Strains as Derived from PacBio Sequencing.

Project description:We report here the complete genome sequences of seven Vibrio anguillarum strains isolated from multiple geographic locations, thus increasing the total number of genomes of finished quality to 11. The genomes were de novo assembled from long-sequence PacBio reads. Including draft genomes, a total of 44 V. anguillarum genomes are currently available in the genome databases. They represent an important resource in the study of, for example, genetic variations and for identifying virulence determinants. In this article, we present the genomes and basic genome comparisons of the 11 complete genomes, including a BRIG analysis, and pan genome calculation. We also describe some structural features of superintegrons on chromosome 2 s, and associated insertion sequence (IS) elements, including 18 new ISs (ISVa3 - ISVa20), both of importance in the complement of V. anguillarum genomes.

Project description:The whole-genome sequences of seven fatal enterovirus 71 (EV71) strains, isolated in southern China, in 2014, were determined. The complete genome sequences of these strains displayed close relationships to native EV71 strains and showed 94.2% to 99.8% identity to each other. All of these strains were assigned to subgenotype C4a based on phylogenetic analysis of the VP1 gene.

The genome sizes ranged from 1.901 Mbp to 2.203 Mbp, with G+C contents of 39.5% to 39.8%. The sequence types, antimicrobial resistance genotypes, and S. canis M-like protein alleles were all characterized.
