ABSTRACT: The title compounds, C₁₉H₁₂Br₂N₂O₂ and C₁₈H₁₁Br₂N₃O₂, were synthesized in good yields from condensation reactions of 3-bromo-benzoyl chloride with 2-amino-pyridine or 2-amino-pyrimidine using standard condensation reaction conditions and subsequent column chromatography.

Project description:In the title compound, C(24)H(12)BrF(2)NO(4), synthesized from 2-amino-3-bromo-1,4-naphthoquinone and 4-fluoro-benzoyl chloride, the two p-fluoro-phenyl rings are inclined at 73.9?(1) and 73.6?(1)° to the naphthoquinone ring system. The two imido carbonyl O atoms are anti to each other, while the fluoro-phenyl rings are located opposite each other, connected to the imide group in a funnel-like arrangement. This conformation allows the fluorine groups be oriented slightly away from each other. An examination of the packing shows a close inter-molecular F?O contact of 2.982?(5)?Å and a Br?O contact of 2.977?(4)?Å. In addition, the mol-ecules are linked by weak inter-molecular C-H?O and C-H?F inter-actions.

Project description:The synthesis of the title compound, C(12)H(15)BrN(2)OS, involves the reaction of 4-bromo-benzoyl chloride with potassium thio-cyanate in dry acetone, followed by condensation of 4-bromo-benzoyl isothio-cyanate with diethyl-amine. The carbonyl and thio-carbonyl bond lengths indicate that these correspond to double bonds. The short C-N bond lengths reveal the effects of resonance in this part of the mol-ecule. The conformation of the mol-ecule with respect to the thio-carbonyl and carbonyl units is twisted, with torsion angles of -5.7?(3) and 87.2?(2)°. The N atom of the diethyl-amine group is sp(2)-hybridized: the sum of the angles around the N atom is 359.97?(14)°. The two diethyl groups are twisted in + and - anti-periplanar conformations with angles of -179.89 and 179.92°. In the crystal structure, the mol-ecules form infinite chains via an inter-molecular N-H?O inter-action.

Project description:The central acetyl-acetamide moiety in the title compound, C(14)H(9)N(3)O(6), is buckled [e.g. the C-N-C-O torsion angle is 14.3?(6)°] but the r.m.s. deviation for the five atoms is 0.044?Å. The benzene rings lie on the same side of the central plane, forming dihedral angles of 37.17?(15) and 28.58?(19)° with it. The dihedral angle between the two rings is 17.8?(2)° indicating that the mol-ecule is curved. The carbonyl groups are syn to each other and anti to the amino H atom. This allows for the formation of N-H?O hydrogen bonds in the crystal, which leads to twisted chains along the b axis. Positional disorder (50:50) of the O atoms was modelled for both the nitro groups.
