The complete mitochondrial genome of <i>Matuta planipes</i> was obtained using long and conventional PCR method. The circular genome was 15,760 bp in length, consisting of 13 protein-coding genes, 22 transfer RNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes and a control region. Of the 37 genes, 23 were encoded by the heavy strand, while the others were encoded by the light strand.
