Eukaryotic cells regulate 5'-triphosphorylated RNAs (ppp-RNAs) to promote cellular functions and prevent recognition by antiviral RNA sensors. For example, RNA capping enzymes possess triphosphatase domains that remove the γ phosphates of ppp-RNAs during RNA capping.
