The extensive heterogeneity of biological data poses challenges to analysis and interpretation. Construction of a large-scale mechanistic model of <i>Escherichia coli</i> enabled us to integrate and cross-evaluate a massive, heterogeneous dataset based on measurements reported by various groups over decades.
