Crystal structure and Hirshfeld surface analysis of ((S,S)-2,2'-{[(1,2-di-phenyl-ethane-1,2-di-yl)bis-[(aza-n-ium-ylyl-idene)methanylyl-idene]}bis-(6-meth-oxy-phenolato))trinitratosamarium(III).

ABSTRACT: In the title complex, [Sm(NO₃)₃(C₃₀H₂₈N₂O₄)], the Sm atom is surrounded by ten O atoms. The (S,S)-2,2'-{[(1,2-di-phenyl-ethane-1,2-di-yl)bis-[(aza-niumylyl-idene)methanylyl-idene]}bis-(6-meth-oxy-phenolate) ligand, obtained from o-vanillin and (1S,2S)-(-)-1,2-di-phenyl-ethyl-enedi-amine, exhibits a slightly distorted planar arrangement of the four coordinated O atoms. In the crystal, the complex shows intra-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The Hirshfeld surface analysis indicates that the most important contributions to the packing are from H⋯H (33.5%), O⋯H (34.1%) and C⋯H (21.7%) contacts.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ti2(C16H14N2O2)2O2]·2CHCl3, the Ti(IV) atom in the centrosymmetric complex has a distorted octa-hedral N2O4 coordination environment and is linked via two ?2-oxido bridges into a dinuclear centrosymmetric com-plex, with a Ti?Ti separation of 2.7794?(8)?Å. In the salen (N,N'-ethyl-enebis(salicyl-imine)) ligand, the two salicyl-imine units make a dihedral angle of 45.31?(5)°. The complex mol-ecules are stacked parallel to [100], forming channels in which the solvent chloro-form mol-ecules are located. C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the complex mol-ecules and the solvent mol-ecules consolidate the crystal packing.

Project description:In the title structure, [Ti2(C16H16N2O2)2O2]·2CHCl3, the Ti atom is coordinated in a distorted octa-hedral geometry by the O,N,N',O' donor set of the salalen ligand and by two μ2-oxide O atoms, which bridge two Ti(salalen) fragments into a centrosymmetric dimeric unit. In the central Ti2(μ2-O)2 fragment, the metal-oxygen distances are significantly different [1.7962 (19) and 1.9292 (19) Å]. In the crystal, the chloro-form mol-ecule is anchored via an N-H⋯Cl and a bifurcated C-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bond. Slipped π-π stacking [shortest C⋯C distance = 3.585 (4) Å] and C-H⋯π inter-actions contribute to the coherence of the structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(12)Br(4)N(2)O(2), comprises half of a potential tetra-dentate Schiff base ligand. The whole mol-ecule is generated by an inversion center located in the middle of the C-C bond of the ethyl-ene segment. There are intra-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds making S(6) ring motifs. In the crystal, no significant inter-molecular inter-actions are observed.

The Zn atom is five-coordinated by two phenolate O and two imine N atoms of the tetradentate Schiff base ligand and by one water O atom, forming a square-pyramidal geometry. In the crystal, pairs of mol-ecules are linked via inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming dimers.

Project description:In the title com-plex, [Cu(C18H12F6N2O4)]·0.5C6H6O2, the CuII ion has a square-planar coordination geometry, being ligated by two N and two O atoms of the tetra-dentate open-chain Schiff base ligand 6,6'-{(1E,1'E)-[ethane-1,2-diylbis(aza-nylyl-idene)]bis-(methanylyl-idene)}bis-[2-(tri-fluoro-meth-oxy)phenol]. The crystal packing is stabilized by intra-molecular O-H⋯O and inter-molecular C-H⋯F, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯π hydrogen bonds. In addition, weak π-π inter-actions form a three-dimensional structure. Hirshfeld surface analysis and two-dimensional fingerprint plots were performed and created to analyze the inter-molecular inter-actions present in the crystal, indicating that the most important contributions for the crystal packing are from F⋯H/H⋯F (25.7%), H⋯H (23.5%) and C⋯H/H⋯C (12.6%) inter-actions.

In the dication, the two pyridine rings adopt an anti conformation with respect to each other; the angle between these two rings is 3.84 (19)°. In the crystal structure, C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the cations and anions lead to the formation of layers arranged parallel to the ab plane. I⋯O halogen bonds [R(2) (2)(4) graph-set motif] range between 2.873 (2) and 3.036 (3) Å and connect neighbouring IO(3) (-) anions with each other along [100], so as to create a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(18)H(12)N(2)O(4), is situated on a crystallographic centre of symmetry. The mol-ecule has a zigzag structure, with two parallel symmetry-related indoline-2,3-dione fragments linked by an ethyl-ene group at each N atom. In the crystal, the mol-ecules stack in columns along the b axis. There are two such columns in the structure. The mol-ecules within each column are parallel; however, the mol-ecules in the two columns differ in the respective orientation of the indoline-2,3-dione fragments. In one column, they are approximately parallel to (112), while in the other they are approximately parallel to (12). The inter-planar angle between the indoline-2,3-dione fragments in the two columns is 80.83?(3)°. The mol-ecules within each column are related by mutual displacement of their centres of symmetry, that is (0, ±1/2, ±1/2). The packing between the mol-ecules is provided by weak inter-actions only, viz. C-H?O hydrogen bonds and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8745?(8)?Å] and C=O?? inter-actions.
