Asymmetric hydrogenation is one of the most commonly used tools in organic synthesis, whereas, kinetic resolution <i>via</i> asymmetric hydrogenation is less developed. Herein, we describe the first iridium catalyzed kinetic resolution of a wide range of trisubstituted secondary and tertiary allylic alcohols.
