Male mice lacking HuR in skeletal muscle (HuR<sup>m-/-</sup>) have been shown to have decreased gastrocnemius lipid oxidation and increased adiposity and insulin resistance. The same consequences have not been documented in female HuR<sup>m-/-</sup> mice. Here we examine this sexually dimorphic phenotype.
