The hallmark of severe COVID-19 is an uncontrolled inflammatory response, resulting from poorly understood immunological dysfunction. We hypothesized that perturbations in FoxP3<sup>+</sup> T regulatory cells (Treg), key enforcers of immune homeostasis, contribute to COVID-19 pathology.
