Draft Genome Sequences of Multidrug-Resistant Shigella Strains Isolated from Diarrheal Patients in Bangladesh.

ABSTRACT: The emergence of multidrug-resistant (MDR) Shigella strains has impaired the efficacy of first-line antimicrobials and exacerbated diarrhea-associated morbidity and mortality worldwide. We report the draft genome sequences of 11 MDR Shigella strains isolated from the stool specimens of diarrheal patients in Bangladesh.

Project description:The draft genome sequences of the strains Acinetobacter baumannii 107m, Acinetobacter nosocomialis 28F, and Acinetobacter pittii 42F, isolated from Colombian hospitals, are reported here. These isolates are causative of nosocomial infections and are classified as multidrug resistant, as they showed resistance to four different antibiotic groups.

Complete Genome Sequences of Two Multidrug-Resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis Strains Isolated in Guiyang, China.

Project description:We identified the genome sequences of two Mycobacterium tuberculosis isolates. They were resistant to rifampin and isoniazid, as determined by the agar proportion method, but were susceptible to isoniazid, as determined by the DNA array method. The genome sequences showed that a katG deletion led to the false diagnosis of isoniazid resistance by DNA array.
