The angiogenesis process is an essential issue in tissue engineering. Zinc oxide nanorods are biocompatible metals capable of generating reactive oxygen species (ROS) that respond to induced angiogenesis through various mechanisms; however, released Zn (II) ions suppress the angiogenesis process.
