ABSTRACT: Nuclear genome sequences incompletely characterize the genomic content and thus the genetic diversity of fungal species. Here, we present the complete mitochondrial genome sequences of nine Aspergillus flavus strains, providing useful information for inter- and intraspecific analyses.

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Aspergillus flavus SRRC1009: insight of intraspecific variations on A. flavus mitochondrial genomes.

Project description:The mitogenome of Aspergillus flavus SRRC1009 was sequenced to investigate intraspecific variations on mitochondrial genomes of A. flavus. It shows 29,202 bp with a typical configuration of Aspergillus mitogenome. Sixteen SNPs and 22 INDELs and 17 SNPs and 27 INDELs were identified against AflaGuard® and JQ355000, respectively. Phylogenetic trees present in the three A. flavus mitochondrial genomes were clustered with A. oryzae mitochondrial genome in one clade.

Complete Genome Sequences of Nine Streptococcus pneumoniae Serotype 3 Clonal Complex 180 Strains.

Project description:We announce the complete genomes of nine Streptococcus pneumoniae strains belonging to serotype 3 clonal complex 180 (CC180). The genomes consist of a single circularized contig with an average length of 2.033 Mbp. Pangenome analysis identified 1,762 core genes and 412 accessory genes. These genomes are the basis for future population genomic studies.

Project description:Here, we report the nearly complete genome sequences of nine severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) variants with the D614G mutation. These viruses were detected from various infected individuals with different levels of severity from Pahang, Malaysia. In addition, this study described the presence of lineage B.1.351 as a type of variant of concern (VOC) and lineages B.1.466.2 and B.1.524 as local variants.

Complete mitochondrial genome sequence of Afla-Guard®, commercially available non-toxigenic Aspergillus flavus.

Project description:Afla-Guard® is a commercial non-toxigenic Aspergillus flavus strain used to decrease aflatoxin contamination level in field. Its mitochondrial genome was sequenced, showing that its length is 29,208 bp with typical configuration of Aspergillus mitochondrial genome. 17 SNPs and 27 INDELs were identified by comparing with previous A. flavus mitochondrial genome. Phylogenetic trees present that A. flavus of Afla-Guard® was clustered with the previous A. flavus mitochondrial genome.

Project description:We report the sequences of nine novel Bacillus cereus group bacteriophages: DIGNKC, Juglone, Nemo, Nigalana, NotTheCreek, Phrodo, SageFayge, Vinny, and Zuko. These bacteriophages are double-stranded DNA-containing Myoviridae isolated from soil samples using B. thuringiensis subsp. kurstaki as the host bacterium.
