In cardiomyocytes, Ca<sup>2+</sup> influx through L-type voltage-gated calcium channels (LTCCs) following membrane depolarization regulates crucial Ca<sup>2+</sup>-dependent processes including duration and amplitude of the action potentials and excitation-contraction coupling.
