The Strecker Synthesis of (a)chiral α-amino acids from simple organic compounds, such as ammonia (NH<sub>3</sub>), aldehydes (RCHO), and hydrogen cyanide (HCN) has been recognized as a viable route to amino acids on primordial earth.
