Barium bis-[tetra-fluorido-bromate(III)].

ABSTRACT: Single crystals of barium bis-[tetra-fluorido-bromate(III)], Ba[BrF₄]₂, were obtained in the form of tiny blocks. Crystal-structure refinement of Ba[BrF₄]₂ from single-crystal X-ray diffraction data confirmed the previous model obtained on the basis of powder data [Ivlev et al. (2014 ▸). Eur. J. Inorg. Chem. pp. 6261-6267], but with all atoms refined with anisotropic displacement parameters. The crystal structure consists of two symmetry-independent barium cations that are each coordinated by twelve fluorine atoms, forming edge-sharing polyhedra, and an almost square-planar [BrF₄]^- anion. The compound crystallizes in the Ba[AuF₄]₂ structure type.

The crystal structure features head-to-tail stacking of the phenanthroline ligands. The tetra-fluorido-borate anions are positioned in the channels between the cation stacks running along the a axis, and form weak C-H⋯F interactions.

Project description:The title compound, [Ir2H2O(C3H9P)6](BF4)2·2H2O, was isolated from the reaction between [Ir(COD)(PMe3)3]BF4 and H2 in water (COD is cyclo-octa-1,5-diene). The asymmetric unit consists of one Ir(III) atom bonded to three PMe3 groups, one hydride ligand and half an oxide ligand, in addition to a BF4 (-) counter-ion and one water molecule of hydration. The single oxide ligand bridging two Ir(III) atoms is disordered across an inversion center with each O atom having a 50% site occupancy. Each Ir(III) atom has three PMe3 groups occupying facial positions, with the half-occupancy O atoms, a hydride ligand and an Ir-Ir bond completing the coordination sphere. The Ir-Ir distance is 2.8614 (12) Å, comparable to other iridium(III) metal-metal bonds. Two water mol-ecules hydrogen bond to two BF4 (-) anions in the unit cell.

Project description:The title salt, Na[CrF2(C5H5N)4]2[ZnCl4]ClO4, consists of two cationic Cr(III) complexes, an Na(+) cation, one [ZnCl4](2-) anion and one ClO4 (-) anion. The Cr(III) atoms are coordinated by four pyridine (py) N atoms and two F atoms in a trans arrangement, displaying a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The mean Cr-N(py) and Cr-F bond lengths are 2.086?(8) and 1.864?(14)?Å, respectively. The [ZnCl4](2-) anion has a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. The most notable feature of the crystal packing is the formation of weak pyridine-perchlorate C-H?O hydrogen bonds, resulting in supra-molecular chains along the b-axis direction. The perchlorate anion was disordered over two sets of sites in a 0.868?(3):0.132?(3) ratio.

Project description:Barium dierbium(III) tetra-sulfide, BaEr2S4, crystallizes with four formula units in the ortho-rhom-bic space group Pnma in the CaFe2O4 structure type. The asymmetric unit contains two Er, one Ba, and four S atoms, each with .m. site symmetry. The structure consists of channels formed by corner- and edge-sharing ErS6 octa-hedra in which Ba atoms reside. The resultant coordination of Ba is that of a bicapped trigonal prism.

Project description:The title compound, (C3H12N2)2[AlF6][AlF4(H2O)2]·4H2O, was obtained by a solvothermal method in ethanol as solvent and with aluminium hydroxide, HF and 1,3-di-amino-propane as educts. The asymmetric unit contains a quarter each of two crystallographically independent propane-1,3-di-ammonium dicat-ions, [AlF6](3-) and [AlF4(H2O)2](-) anions and four water mol-ecules. The cations, anions and three of the independent water mol-ecules are situated on special positions mm, while the fourth water mol-ecule is disordered about a mirror plane. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?F and O-H?F hydrogen bonds link the cations and anions into a three-dimensional framework with the voids filled by water mol-ecules, which generate O-H?O hydrogen bonds and further consolidate the packing.

Project description:In the title manganese(III) complex, [MnCl(2)(C(10)H(24)N(4))]BF(4) or trans-[MnCl(2)(cyclam)]BF(4) (cyclam is the tetra-dentate amine ligand 1,4,8,11-tetra-azacyclo-tetra-deca-ne), the Mn(III) ions occupy the center of a distorted octa-hedron coordinated by all four ligand nitro-gen donors in the macrobicyclic cavity and two chloride ions occupy the axial positions. Intra-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the coordinated chloride ions and the hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand is observed. Inter-molecular hydrogen bonding involving the tetrafluoridoborate anion and hydrogen atoms of the cyclam ligand leads to an infinite one-dimensional chain along the a axis. The tetra-fluoridoborate and inorganic units are linked by N-H?F hydrogen bonds. The structure may be compared with those of analogous compounds [MnCl(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4) and [Mn(CN)(2)(cyclam)]ClO(4).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Ba(C(6)H(2)N(3)O(7))(2)(H(2)O)(4)](n), consists of a barium ion coordinated by two nitrophenolate ligands and four water mol-ecules. Barium is deca-coordinated by O atoms. These units are linked together through bridging nitro groups to form a one-dimensional polymeric chain. The three-dimensional packing is facilitated through hydrogen-bonding inter-actions mediated through water mol-ecules. The coordination distances around Ba vary from 2.728?(4) to 3.138?(5)?Å. The crystal sample, on exposure to air at room temperature for many days, slowly loses the water and peels out as filaments.
