Limiting CD4<sup>+</sup> T cell responses is important to prevent solid organ transplant rejection. In a mouse model of costimulation blockade-dependent cardiac allograft tolerance, we previously reported that alloreactive CD4<sup>+</sup> conventional T cells (Tconvs) develop dysfunction, losing proliferative capacity.
