A critical role of cyclophilin D in the survival of senescent cells

ABSTRACT: We show that senescent cells are highly vulnerable to elevated mitochondrial Ca2+ and transient CypD/mPTP opening is a critical survival adaptation mechanism. Thus, we propose CypD as a novel senolytic target.
