Functional data obtained on mouse macrophages exposed to polystyrene beads of different sizes, showing the modulation of the effects by the amount of internalized beads
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: These data show various functional parameters such as mitochondrial potential, oxidative stress level, lysosome function, and expression of several surface markers, in response to exposure to polystyrene nanoparticles (20µg/ml, 24 hours). We observed that the uptake of the particles is very variable within the cell population, so that we correlated the magnitude of the effects to the particles uptake via flow cytometry experiments.
