Heparin-sepharose 4B at low temperatures retains ribosomes.
Ontology highlight
ABSTRACT: Ribosomes were separated by zonal ultracentrifugation from the fraction of reticulocyte postmitochondrial supernatants retained on heparin bound to Sepharose 4B at 4 degrees C. No ribosomes were retained at 22 degrees C. Ribosomes were also adsorbed on Sepharose 4B and 6B at low temperatures and could be eluted after increasing the column temperature.
