4-(4-Nitro-benzene-sulfonamido)pyridinium trichloro-acetate.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(11)H(10)N(3)O(4)S(+)·C(2)Cl(3)O(2) (-), the benzene ring forms an angle of 85.21?(13)° with the pyridinium ring. The nitro group is nearly coplanar with its attached benzene ring [dihedral angle = 3.68?(12)°]. In the crystal structure, strong N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the ion-pairs. The packing is further consolidated by weak C-H?O inter-ations.
