ABSTRACT: The title compound, K(+)·C(6)H(9)N(4)O(4) (-)·H(2)O, crystallizes with the K atoms located on special positions related by pseudocentres of symmetry. Each K atom is coordinated by six O-atom donors. The N and water H atoms are involved in inter- and intra-molecular N-H?O, N-H?N and O-H?O hydrogen bonding. The data indicate inversion twinning.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(3)H(12)N(2) (2+)·2C(6)H(4)NO(2) (-)·H(2)O, consists of half of a doubly protonated propane-1,3-diammonium dication, a pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate anion and half of a solvent water mol-ecule; the dication and the solvent water are located on a twofold rotation axis which passes through the central C atom of the dication and the water O atom. The carboxyl-ate group of the anion appears to be delocalized on the basis of the C-O bond lengths. In the crystal, the components are linked by inter-molecular N-H⋯O, N-H⋯N and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:In the ionic title compound, K(+)·C(5)H(8)NOS(2) (-)·H(2)O, the morpholine ring of the morpholine-4-carbodithio-ate anion has a chair conformation. The potassium cation is coordinated by four S and four O atoms in a bipyramidal reversed geometry. In the crystal, the three components are linked, generating infinite two-dimensional networks that lie parallel to the bc plane. These layers are linked via O-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C(7)H(8)N(2)O(4)·H(2)O, the imidazole N atom is protonated and one of the carboxyl-ate groups is deprontonated, forming a zwitterion. The two carboxyl groups are are approximately coplanar with the imidazole ring [O-C-C-C torsion angles = -176.8?(2) and 2.9?(4)° for one group and -4.6?(3) and 176.4?(2)° for the other] and have an intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond between them. The water mol-ecule is linked to the organic mol-ecules via an N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds are found in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title compound, C5H9NO2·H2O, the amino acid is in the usual zwitterionic form involving the α-carboxyl-ate group. The cyclo-butane backbone of the amino acid is disordered over two conformations, with occupancies of 0.882 (7) and 0.118 (7). In the crystal, N-H⋯O and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the zwitterions [with the water molecule involved as both acceptor (with the NH3 (+)) and donor (through a single carboxylate O from two different aminocyclobutane carb-oxylate moities)], resulting in a two-dimensional layered structure lying parallel to (100).

Project description:The title compound. C(15)H(14)N(2)O(4), (I), has a gauche-gauche (O/C/C/C-O/C/C/C or GG) conformation and is a positional isomer of propane-1,3-diyl bis-(pyridine-3-carboxyl-ate), (II). The mol-ecule of (I) lies on a twofold rotation axis, which passes through the central C atom of the aliphatic chain, giving one half-mol-ecule per asymmetric unit. There is excellent agreement of the geometric parameters of (I) and (II). The most obvious differences between them are the O/C/C/C-O/C/C/C torsion angles [56.6?(2)° in (I) and 174.0?(3)/70.2?(3)° in (II) for GG and TG conformations, respectively] and the dihedral angle between the planes of the aromatic rings [80.3?(10)° in (I) and 76.5?(3)° in (II)]. The crystal structure is stabilized by weak C-H? N and C-H? O hydrogen bonding.

The crystal used was a non-merohedral twin with a fractional contribution of the minor component of 0.443 (5).
