N-(n-Dec-yl)-4-nitro-aniline.

ABSTRACT: N-(n-Dec-yl)-4-nitro-aniline, C(16)H(26)N(2)O(2), crystallizes with two essentially planar mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The decyl chains are fully extended in an anti conformation. The mol-ecules pack in planar layers, within which mol-ecules are linked into chains by two approximately linear N-H?O hydrogen bonds between the amine N atom and one O atom of the nitro group of an adjacent mol-ecule. These mol-ecular chains propagate via inter-leaving of the decyl chains to form the two dimensional sheets. The sheets are associated exclusively via non-bonded contacts. The structure has features in common with those of other N-alkyl-4-nitro-anilines, but also subtle differences in packing.

In the crystal, hydrogen-bonded chains running along [10-1] are generated by the linking of neighbouring mol-ecules via N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the 3-nitro-aniline systems and forming R(2) (2)(8) motifs.

Project description:In the title compound, C(11)H(16)N(4)O(2), the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and the plane of the four carbon atoms in the piperazine ring is 12.17 (3)°; the latter ring adopts a chair conformation. An intramolecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming chains.

Project description:In the title compound, C(14)H(14)N(2)O(3), the nitro group is nearly coplanar with the benzene ring to which it is bonded [dihedral angle = 1.70 (2)°], and this ring is para-substituted by the amino-methyl-ene group. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 57.8 (1)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds and weak C-H⋯π inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:In the triaryl-amine group of the title compound, C(26)H(20)N(2)O(2), the N atom adopts an approximately trigonal-planar geometry, lying 0.046 (5) Å from the plane P defined by its three neighbouring C atoms; the benzene and two terminal phenyl rings are twisted by 37.4 (1), 31.4 (1) and 47.8 (1)°, respectively from plane P. In the trans-stilbene fragment, the two benzene rings form a dihedral angle of 31.3 (1)°. In the crystal, weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O inter-actions link the mol-ecules into ribbons in [100].

Project description:In title compound, C(12)H(9)IN(2)O(2)S, the nitro group is rotated slightly, by 8.91 (3)°, out of the plane of the aromatic ring to which it is bonded. Between the two aromatic rings the CSN plane is at a dihedral angle of 84.0 (7)° to the HNC plane. Mol-ecules are linked by C-H⋯O inter-actions into a double helical supra-molecular architecture. There are no iodo-nitro, π-π or C-H⋯π(arene) inter-actions.

4-Nitro-benzoic acid-N-(pyrimidin-2-yl)aniline (1/1).

Project description:Four independent mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title co-crystal, C(10)H(9)N(3)·C(7)H(5)NO(4), two for each component. Small conformational differences are noted for the benzoic acid derivatives, notably in the twists of the carb-oxy-lic acid residue out of the plane of the benzene ring to which it is connected [torsion angles = 167.62?(17) and 174.54?(17)°]. In the aniline derivative, the major difference is observed in the dihedral angles formed between the CN(3) and phenyl least-squares planes [1.51?(5) and 6.25?(6)°]. Pairs of mol-ecules associate via O-H?N and N-H?O hydrogen bonds leading to eight-membered {?HOCO?HNCN} hetero-synthons. The two-mol-ecule aggregates are consolidated in the crystal structure by C-H?O(nitro) and ?-? inter-actions [shortest centroid-centroid distance between benzene rings = 3.6242?(10)?Å].

N,N-Dihexyl-4-[2-(4-nitro-phen-yl)vin-yl]aniline.

Project description:The title compound, C(26)H(36)N(2)O(2), was prepared by Horner olefination of p-dihexyl-amino-benzaldehyde and diethyl p-nitro-benzyl-phospho-nate. It crystallizes with two independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Both have similar geometries of the π-systems but the conformations of all hexyl chains are different. Whereas one hexyl chain of the first mol-ecule shows the typical all-anti conformation, the second is arranged in a gauche-anti-gauche-anti conformation with N-C-C-C, C-C-C-C, C-C-C-C and C-C-C-C torsion angles of -65.1 (4), 167.3 (3), 63.3 (4), and 179.4 (3)°. One of the hexyl chains in the other mol-ecule has an anti-anti-gauche-anti conformation [N-C-C-C, C-C-C-C, C-C-C-C and C-C-C-C torsion angles = 179.6 (3), -179.8 (3), -68.7 (5) and -178.8 (4)°], the other starts with an anti-gauche-gauche sequence. Molecules A and B are composed of five planar subunits. The angle sums around the N atoms are in the range 356 (2)-360.0 (2)°. Torsion angles between these segments do not exceed 4.9 (4)°, except for one of the alkyl chains each [molecule A = 26.2 (4)°; molecule B = -6.0 (4)°]. The high planarity of the molecules and the short aniline C-N bonds [1.385 (3) Å in molecule A and 1.378 (3) Å in molecule B] indicate a strong electronic coupling through the stilbene unit. One methylene group is disordered over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.72:0.28.

Project description:In the title Schiff-base type compound, C(18)H(13)N(3)O(5), the central furan ring makes dihedral angles of 12.80?(7) and 51.43?(4)° with the terminal benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the benzene rings is 45.43?(3)°. In the crystal, C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into layers parallel to (010). In addition, there are ?-? stacking inter-actions within the layer [centroid-centroid distance = 3.584?(1)?Å] and between the layers [centroid-centroid distance 3.751?(1)?Å].

The NO(2) group is twisted by 16.2 (4)° relative to the aromatic ring. The two ethyl chains are positioned such that one ethyl chain lies above and the other below the ring.
