ABSTRACT: The polymeric title compound, {[Ni(C(8)H(18)O(2)PS(2))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(4))]·2C(7)H(7)}(n), has a linear topology and features octa-hedrally coordinated Ni atoms with a trans-N(2)S(4) donor set. The toluene solvent mol-ecules occupy channels defined by the three-dimensional stacking of the polymeric chains. The Ni atom is located at a centre of inversion and the bridging 1,2-bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)hydrazine4-pyridine mol-ecule is also disposed about a centre of inversion. One isobutoxy group is disordered equally over two positions.

Project description:The Ni atom in the title linear supra-molecular polymer, [Ni(C(6)H(14)O(2)PS(2))(2)(C(12)H(10)N(4))](n), exists within a trans-N(2)S(4) octa-hedral donor set defined by two symmetrically coordinating dithio-phosphate ligands and pyridine N atoms derived from two bridging bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)diazane ligands. The Ni atom lies on a centre of inversion and the bis-(4-pyridylmethyl-ene)diazane ligand is also disposed about a centre of inversion. Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(2)(C(2)H(4))(2)(C(25)H(22)P(2))(2)]·2C(7)H(8), each Ni atom is coordinated in a trigonal-planar geometry by two P atoms of the bridging 1,2-bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane (dppm) ligands and by the centroid of the double bond of an ethene ligand. An eight-membered ring comprising the two Ni atoms, four P atoms and the CH(2) groups of the two dppm ligands is thus formed. The methyl group in one of the solvent toluene mol-ecules is disordered over two positions with equal occupancies.

Project description:The title compound, [Ni(S2C2(C6H4-p-Cl)2)2] or [Ni(C14H8Cl2S2)2], crystallizes in the triclinic space group P as pairs of mol-ecules disposed about an inversion center at the bc face of the cell. Close inter-molecular C-H⋯S (2.884 Å) and C-H⋯Ni (3.032 Å) contacts that are less than the sum of the van der Waals radii appear to induce slight bowing of the mol-ecular planes toward one another. The angles at which the four p-ClC6H4- rings join the NiS2C2 chelate rings [39.37 (9)- 53.41 (6)°] are similarly influenced by these inter-molecular contacts. In the larger packing arrangement, sheets of mol-ecules extend in the direction of the ac face diagonal.
