ABSTRACT: The title compound, C(13)H(14)O(4), belongs to the class of ?,?-unsaturated ketones, which have potential bactericidal, fungicidal, anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory properties. The C atoms and attached H atoms of the ethenyl part of the title mol-ecule are disordered over two orientations with refined occupancies of 0.583?(7) and 0.417?(3). Mol-ecules are connected by two inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions, forming a dimer with symmetry.
