ABSTRACT: The crystal structure of the title compound, [Ru(C(12)H(12)O(6))(C(18)H(15)P)(2)(CO)], confirms its formulation as a ruthenabenzofuran, with a slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination environment at the Ru(II) ion, and mutually trans triphenyl-phosphine ligands. The metallabicyclic ring system is essentially planar (maximum deviation 0.059?Å).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(16)H(14)O(4), consists of one half-mol-ecule of an essentially planar biphenyl-dicarboxylic acid ester, with the complete molecule generated by an inversion centre. The maximum deviation from a least-squares plane through all non-H atoms occurs for the peripheric methyl groups and amounts to 0.124?(2)?Å. The solid represents a typical mol-ecular crystal without classical hydrogen bonds. The shortest inter-molecular contacts do not differ significantly from the sum of the van der Waals radii of the atoms involved.

Project description:In the crystal of the title compound, C(11)H(15)NO(4), the mol-ecules are linked into sheets by N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds. Within the mol-ecule, the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring exhibits a distinctive planar conformation [r.m.s. deviation from the mean plane of 0.009?(3)Å], and the other non-H atoms are almost coplanar [r.m.s. deviation = 0.021?(3)?Å] with the 1,4-dihydro-pyridine ring. The conformation of the latter is governed mainly by two intra-molecular C-H?O non-classical inter-actions.
