Project description:The title compound, C(22)H(17)ClN(2)O(2), was synthesized by the condensation reaction between 1,2-phenyl-enediamine and 2-chloro-3',4'-dimeth-oxy-benzil in boiling acetic acid. The chloro-phenyl and dimeth-oxy-phenyl rings make dihedral angles of 78.45 (5) and 35.60 (4)°, respectively, with the quinoxaline unit.

Project description:The 21 non-H atoms of the title compound, C15H10Cl2N4, are almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.032 Å); the conformation about the N=C bond [1.277 (6) Å] is E. In the crystal, zigzag supra-molecular chains along the c axis (glide symmetry) are formed via N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds. These associate along the b axis by π-π inter-actions between the fused and terminal benzene rings [inter-centroid distance = 3.602 (3) Å] so that layers form in the bc plane.

An intra-molecular C-H?N hydrogen bond occurs. In the crystal, a second C-H?N hydrogen bond links the main and solvent mol-ecules. The solvent chloroform molecule is disordered about two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.508?(14):0.492?(14).

Project description:In the title inclusion compound, 2C(24)H(40)O(5)·C(8)H(6)N(2), the unit cell contains two mol-ecules of cholic acid (3?,7?,12?-trihydr-oxy-5?-cholan-24-oic acid) and one mol-ecule of quinoxaline which implies disorder of the quinoxaline in the space group P2(1). The amphiphilic mol-ecules of cholic acid assemble, in an anti-parallel arrangement, via O-H?O hydrogen bonds, into typical corrugated host bilayers which are lipophilic on the outside and lipophobic on the inside. The host framework belongs to the so called ?-trans subtype. The quinoxaline mol-ecules are accommodated in lipophilic channels formed between neighboring bilayers with only van der Waals inter-actions between host and guest. There is a crystallographic twofold screw axis directed along an empty channel in the host framework; however, neighboring guests in any one channel are related by a unit-cell translation along the b axis. Thus, the overall structure is a 1:1 superposition of two such channels related by the crystallographic twofold screw axis.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title quinoxaline compound, C(10)H(9)N(3)O(2), contains two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B). The quinoxaline ring systems are essentially planar, with maximum deviations of 0.006 (1) and 0.017 (1) Å, respectively, for mol-ecules A and B. In mol-ecule A, the dihedral angle formed between the quinoxaline ring system and nitro group is 10.94 (3)° [6.31 (13)° for mol-ecule B]. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains propagating along [001]: one forms zigzag chains linked by C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, whilst the other forms ladder-like chains by way of C-H⋯N and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds. The packing is further consolidated by weak π-π inter-actions [range of centroid-centroid distances = 3.5895 (7)-3.6324 (7) Å].
