ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Mn(C(6)H(3)N(4)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Mn(II) atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and is octa-hedrally coordinated by the N and O atoms of the chelating tetra-zolo[1,5-a]pyridine-8-carboxyl-ate anions and the O atoms of two water mol-ecules. Hydrogen bonds of the O-H?O and O-H?N types lead to the formation of layers parallel to (100).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, {[MgNa?(C??H?O?)?(H?O)?]·2H?O}(n), contains one octa-hedrally coordin-ated Mg(II) atom (site symmetry 2/m), one octahedrally coordinated Na(I) atom (site symmetry 2) and one half of the dihydrogen benzene-1,2,4,5-tetra-carboxyl-ate (btec) ligand, the second half of the ligand being generated by a twofold rotation axis. The basic framework of the title compound features infinite (-Na-Na-Mg-)(n) chains along [10-1] with the metal cations bridged by the coordinating water molecules. The chains are isolated from each other by ??-bridging btec ligands, which form inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds to uncoordinated water mol-ecules and the coordinated water mol-ecules of a neighbouring chain. In each btec ligand, there are also intramolecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds.

Project description:There are two crystallographically independent complex mol-ecules with very similar geometries in the unit cell of the title compound, [Mn(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·0.5C(3)H(7)NO. The central ion is situated in a distorted octa-hedral environment of two N- and four O-donor atoms from two pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and two cis-disposed water mol-ecules. The carboxyl-ate ligands are coordinated in a chelate fashion with the formation of two five-membered rings. In the crystal, the complex mol-ecules are connected by O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between the coordinated water mol-ecules and the uncoordinated carboxyl-ate O atoms, thus forming hydrogen-bonded walls disposed perpendicularly to the bc plane.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(3)FNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated in a ZnO(4)N(2) environment by two 3-fluoro-pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (3-fpy4-cbx) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The [Zn(3-fpy4-cbx)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] mol-ecules form a three-dimensional network through strong O-H?O and weak O-H?F hydrogen bonds between 3-fpy4-cbx and water mol-ecules. The crystal used for data collection was a twin, with the twin law corresponding to a 180° rotation about the real-space [001] axis. The major twin fraction refined to 0.795?(1).

The Mn(II) atom is coordinated by two N atoms from the 1,10-phenanthroline ligand, two O atoms from two 5-carboxyl-ato-1-carboxyl-atomethyl-2-oxidopyridinium ligands and two water mol-ecules, leading to a distorted octahedral MnN(2)O(4) environment. Inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link neighbouring mol-ecules into a layer structure parallel to (001).

In the complex, the Pd(IV) ion is located on a fourfold inversion axis and eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral environment by four N and four O atoms from four symmetry-related pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate (pic) anionic ligands. In the crystal, the water mol-ecule is involved in O-H?O hydrogen bonding, and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. There are also inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.715?(3)?Å.
