Tetra-kis(pyridine-2-carboxyl-ato-?N,O)palladium(IV) dihydrate.

ABSTRACT: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Pd(C(6)H(4)NO(2))(4)]·2H(2)O, consists of a quarter of a neutral Pd(IV) complex and half of a solvent water mol-ecule. In the complex, the Pd(IV) ion is located on a fourfold inversion axis and eight-coordinated in a distorted dodeca-hedral environment by four N and four O atoms from four symmetry-related pyridine-2-carboxyl-ate (pic) anionic ligands. In the crystal, the water mol-ecule is involved in O-H?O hydrogen bonding, and weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds occur. There are also inter-molecular ?-? inter-actions between adjacent pyridine rings, with a centroid-centroid distance of 3.715?(3)?Å.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Y(2)(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(6)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, each Y(III) atom is nine-coordin-ated by nine O atoms from five ligands and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted monocapped square-anti-prismatic coordination environment. The Y(III) atoms are separated by a distance of 4.0363 (9) Å. The ligands coordinate in three different modes: chelating, bridging and a mixed chelating bridging mode. In the crystal structure, the binuclear complexes are linked by O-H⋯O and O-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cu(2)Tb(C(7)H(3)NO(4))(3)(C(12)H(8)N(2))(4)]NO(3)·4H(2)O, consists of one-half of the C(2)-symmetric trinuclear coordination cation, one-half of the C(2)-symmetric nitrate anion and two water mol-ecules. In the coordination cation, the Cu(II) atom is coordinated by four N atoms from two 1,10-phenanthroline ligands and two O atoms from a bridging-chelating carboxyl-ate group of the pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anion, completing a distorted N(4)O(2) octa-hedral coordination environment. The Tb(III) atom, located on a twofold rotation axis, is nine-coordinated by three tridentate pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate anions forming an N(3)O(6) donor set. The intra-molecular Cu?Tb distance of 5.0592?(11)?Å indicates weak inter-actions between the Cu(II) and Tb(III) atoms. The coordination cations, nitrate anions and water mol-ecules are connected via O-H?O hydrogen bonds into layers parallel to the (001) plane. Moreover, there are extensive ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 4.332?(7) and 3.878?(5)?Å] between the phenanthroline ligands and between phenanthroline and pyridine-2,6-dicarboxyl-ate ligands.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(3)FNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated in a ZnO(4)N(2) environment by two 3-fluoro-pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (3-fpy4-cbx) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The [Zn(3-fpy4-cbx)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] mol-ecules form a three-dimensional network through strong O-H⋯O and weak O-H⋯F hydrogen bonds between 3-fpy4-cbx and water mol-ecules. The crystal used for data collection was a twin, with the twin law corresponding to a 180° rotation about the real-space [001] axis. The major twin fraction refined to 0.795 (1).

They form a dinuclear unit in which the two Li(I) ions are bridged by two carboxyl-ate O atoms from the two ligands. Two dinuclear units related by an inversion centre form the tetra-meric mol-ecule. One of the Li(I) ions shows a distorted tetra-hedral coordination geometry, the other a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal environment. The tetra-mers are held together by hydrogen bonds in which coordinated water mol-ecules act as donors, and the carboxyl-ate O atoms act as acceptors. A hydrogen bond between coordinated water molecule as donor and a ring N atom as acceptor is also observed.

In the crystal, O-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, and offset π-π stacking inter-actions [inter-centroid distances = 3.551 (1) and 3.746 (1) Å] involving inversion-related pyridine rings link the polymeric chains and lattice water mol-ecules to form a supra-molecular three-dimensional framework.
