Project description:The title compound, C(23)H(23)NO(5)·CH(2)Cl(2), was obtained via the alkyl-ation of the 12-hydr-oxy-2,3,8,9-tetra-methoxy-benzo[c]phenanthridine salt. The benzo[c]phenanthridine ring system is essentially planar, with a mean out-of-plane deviation of 0.026?Å. A dicloromethane mol-ecule of solvation is present and located between the sheets of phenanthridine mol-ecules, preventing any significant inter-molecular hydrogen-bonding or ?-? inter-actions.

The dichloro-methane solvent lies across a crystallographic inversion center leading to the mol-ecule being disordered over two positions of equal occupancy. The bis-(diphenyl-phosphino)methane ligand bridges an Ru-Ru bond and the monodentate arsine ligand bonds to the third Ru atom. Both the arsine and phosphine ligands are equatorial with respect to the Ru(3) triangle. In addition, each Ru atom carries one equatorial and two axial terminal carbonyl ligands. The three arsine-substituted benzene rings make dihedral angles of 82.00?(6), 76.67?(7) and 66.09?(6)° with each other. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings are 80.12?(8) and 78.34?(7)° for the two diphenyl-phosphino groups. In the crystal packing, the mol-ecules are linked together into chains down the b axis via inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonds. An inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bond and weak inter-molecular C-H?? inter-actions further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:The carb-oxy-lic acid mol-ecule of the title compound, C(11)H(20)NO(5)P·0.25CH(2)Cl(2), exists as a zwitterion with the H atom of the phospho-nate group being transferred to the imine N atom. In the asymmetric unit, there are two crystallographically independent acid mol-ecules adopting the same absolute configuration and differing slightly in their geometrical parameters. In each mol-ecule, the imino and carboxyl groups are connected via an intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bond. Inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonds induce the formation of layers parallel to the ab plane. The dichloro-methane solvent mol-ecule, with a site occupancy of 0.5, is located between the layers.

The bis-(di-o-tolyl-phosphan-yl)methane ligand bridges an Ru-Ru bond and the monodentate phosphane ligand bonds to the third Ru atom; its S-bonded phenyl ring is disordered over two orientations in a 0.53 (4):0.47 (4) ratio. All the P atoms are equatorial with respect to the Ru(3) triangle: each Ru atom also bears one equatorial and two axial terminal carbonyl ligands. The dihedral angles between the two benzene rings attached to each P atom of the diphenyl-phosphanyl ligand are 68.4 (2) and 71.5 (2)°. Project description:The main mol-ecule of the title solvate, C(33)H(30)N(2)O(10)·CH(3)OH, is a new anti-tumor agent, which shows cytotoxicity against MDR cancer cell lines. It has been synthesized by coupling 4β-amino-podophyllotoxin with (5-meth-oxy-1H-indol-3-yl)glyoxyl chloride and structurally characterized. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit, which differ in the dihedral angles between the aromatic rings. The dihedral angles between the benzene ring of the benzo[d][1,3]dioxole and the benzene ring of the 5-meth-oxy-1H-indole are 85.08 (3) and 76.88 (3)° and reflect the main conformational difference between the two independent mol-ecules. The asymmetric unit is completed with two methanol solvent mol-ecules, one of which is disordered over two positions, with occupancies close to 0.5.
