N'-Benzoyl-N,N-diethyl-thio-urea: a monoclinic polymorph.

ABSTRACT: In the crystal of the title compound, C(12)H(16)N(2)OS, inversion dimers linked by pairs of N-H?S hydrogen bonds occur, generating R(2) (2)(8) loops. The mol-ecules are also linked by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The structure is isostructural with that of N'-benzoyl-N,N-diethyl-seleno-urea [Bruce et al. (2007 ?). New J. Chem.31, 1647-1653].

Project description:The title compound, C9H9N3O2S, is a monoclinic (C2/c) polymorph of the previously reported triclinic structure [Kang (2013 ?). Acta Cryst. E69, o1327]. The mol-ecule is almost planar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.069?Å from the mean plane of all non-H atoms. The benzoyl and terminal thio-urea fragments adopt a transoid conformation with respect to the central carbonyl O atom. Two intra-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds are present. In the crystal, N-H?O and N-H?S inter-actions link the mol-ecules into zigzag chains extending along the c-axis direction.

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(10)Cl(2)N(2)S, represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported ortho-rhom-bic form [Ramnathan et al. (1996 ?). Acta Cryst. C52, 134-136]. The mol-ecule is twisted with the dihedral angle between the benzene rings being 55.37?(7)°. The N-H atoms are syn to each other, which contrasts their anti disposition in the ortho-rhom-bic form. In the crystal, mol-ecules assemble into zigzag chains along the c axis via N-H?S hydrogen bonds. Chains are connected into layers via C-H?Cl inter-actions, and these stack along the a axis.

Dicyclo-hexyl-ammonium thio-cyanate: monoclinic polymorph.

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(24)N(+)·NCS(-), represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported ortho-rhom-bic form [Khawar Rauf et al. (2008 ?). Acta Cryst. E64, o366]. Two independent formula units comprise the asymmetric unit with the major difference in their mol-ecular structures relating to the relative dispositions of the cyclo-hexyl rings [dihedral angles = 79.88?(6) and 67.72?(5)°]. Further, the independent anions form distinctive patterns of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, i.e. 2 × N-H?N versus N-H?N and N-H?S. The resulting supra-molecular architecture is a supra-molecular chain along the c axis based on a square-wave topology.

Project description:The mol-ecule of the title compound, C(22)H(18)N(4)O(2)S(2), lies across a crystallographic inversion centre. The mol-ecule adopts a syn-anti configuration with respect to the positions of the carbonyl groups and terminal phenyl rings relative to the thione S atom across the C-N bond. There are two intra-molecular N-H?O and C-H?S hydrogen bonds within each molecule, resulting in the formation of four six-membered S(6) rings. The central and terminal rings make a dihedral angle of 13.55?(15)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked by inter-molecular C-H?S hydrogen bonds, forming R(2) (2)(14) rings and resulting in zigzag chains.

3-Benzoyl-1,1-dibenzyl-thio-urea.

Project description:Two independent thio-urea mol-ecules comprise the asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(22)H(20)N(2)OS. The central N-C(=S)N(H)C(=O) atoms in each mol-ecule are virtually superimposable and each is twisted [C-N-C-S torsion angles = 121.3 (3) and -62.3 (4)°]. The mol-ecules differ only in terms of the relative orientations of the benzyl benzene rings [major difference between the C-N-C-C torsion angles of -146.6 (3) and -132.9 (3)°]. The presence of N-H⋯S hydrogen bonding leads to the formation of supra-molecular chains along the a axis. These are consolidated in the crystal packing by C-H⋯O inter-actions. The crystal was found to be a combined non-merohedral and racemic twin (twin law 00/00/001), with the fractional contribution of the minor components being approximately 9 and 28%.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(16)H(24)N(2)OS, is twisted about the central N(H)-C bond with a C-N(H)-C-N torsion angle of -62.67 (15)°. The carbonyl group is twisted out of the plane of the benzene ring, forming a C-C-C=O torsion angle of -25.06 (17)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules related by centres of symmetry are linked by pairs of inter-molecular N-H⋯S hydrogen bonds, forming eight-membered {⋯HNCS}(2) synthons. These are further connected by weak via C-H⋯O contacts, forming a two-dimensional array in the bc plane.

A monoclinic polymorph of N-eth-oxy-carbonyl-N'-(3-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)thio-urea.

Project description:The title compound, C(12)H(13)N(5)O(2)S {systematic name: ethyl N-[N-(3-phenyl-1H-1,2,4-triazol-5-yl)carbamothio-yl]carbamate}, is a monoclinic polymorph (space group P2(1)/c) which crystallizes with three similar independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. The triazole ring makes dihedral angles of 6.6 (2), 8.4 (2) and 10.6 (2)° with the phenyl ring in the three independent molecules. The structure was previously reported [Dolzhenko et al. (2010a ▶). Acta Cryst., E46, o425] as a triclinic polymorph crystallizing in space group P. Mol-ecules in both polymorphs possess two S(6) rings generated by intra-molecular N-H⋯S and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, resulting in similar mol-ecular geometries. However, the two polymorphs differ in the crystal packing. In contrast to the dimers of the triclinic polymorph, mol-ecules of the monoclinic polymorph are connected by inter-molecular N-H⋯S and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds, forming pseudosymmetric trimers arranged in sheets parallel to (302).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(18)H(21)N(3)S, contains five mol-ecules. The equivalent bond distances in the five mol-ecules are in excellent agreement, the r.m.s. fit being within 0.007?Å. The five mol-ecules are linked into a chain consisting of alternating pseudo-enanti-omers by N-H?S hydrogen bonds supplemented by weak C-H?? inter-actions. The action of a glide plane links the asymmetric unit into an extended chain. A polymorph of the title compound with one mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit was reported by Braun et al. [Cryst. Res. Technol. (1988), 23, 35-39].

Project description:In the title compound, C(10)H(12)N(2)OS, the amide NCO group is twisted relative to the thio-ureido SCN(2) group, forming a dihedral angle of 55.3 (2)°. The crystal packing shows inter-molecular N-H⋯S and weak C-H⋯O inter-actions, the former giving rise to the formation of centrosymmetric R(2) (2)(8) dimers.

The compound crystallized as discrete mol-ecules linked by N-H?N and C-H?N hydrogen bonds involving all the potential donors, generating sheets parallel to (100). An intramolecular N-H?O bond is also present.
