The thio-cyanate anion also lies on a mirror plane. N-H?N hydrogen bonds link the components into an infinite chain along the b axis.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C20H20N2S2, is T-shaped and consists of a nearly flat 5,6-dimethyl-2-(5-methyl-thio-phen-2-yl)benzimidazole system approximately perpendicular to the 5-methyl-thio-phen-2-ylmethyl substituent. The 5,6-dimethyl-2-(5-meth-yl-thio-phen-2-yl)benzimidazole system is rotationally disordered about the two imidazole N atoms as approximated by a twofold rotation axis with a refined major/minor occupancy ratio of 0.884?(2):0.116?(2). The benzimidazole ring system is essentially planar, the largest deviations being 0.026?(2) and 0.044?(18)?Å in the major and minor components, respectively. The inter-planar angles between the benzimidazole unit and the 5-methyl-thio-phen-2-yl substituent are 10.8?(3) and 8(3)° in the major and minor components, respectively, and the corresponding angles with the 5-methyl-thio-phen-2-ylmethyl substituent are 88.12?(8) and 89.5?(4)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are oriented with their 2-(5-methyl-thio-phen-2-yl)benzimidazole mean planes approximately parallel to (11[Formula: see text]) and appear to be held together by ?-? [2-thiophene?imidazole centroid-centroid distance = 4.1383?(7)?Å] and C-H?? contacts. A weak C-H?N hydrogen bond generates infinite chains parallel to [100].

Project description:The title mononuclear zinc(II) complex, [Zn(C(11)H(16)N(2)O(2))(2)(NCS)]NCS·0.5H(2)O, consists of a complex cation, a thio-cyanate anion, and half of a water mol-ecule. The Zn(II) atom in the cation is five-coordinated by two imine N and two phenolate O atoms from two bidentate Schiff base ligands, and by one N atom of a thio-cyanate ligand, forming a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The ammonio H atoms are involved in hydrogen bonding with the ligand O atoms and the solvent water molecules (site occupation factor 0.5), which partially determines the conformation of the ligands.

Project description:1,1'-[5-Methyl-1-(4-methyl-phen-yl)-1H-pyrazole-3,4-di-yl)di-ethan-one condenses with thio-semicarbazide in the presence of acetic acid to form the title salt, C(15)H(17)N(4) (+)·NCS(-). The fused-ring system of the cation is almost planar (r.m.s. deviation = 0.020?Å) and the aromatic substituent is aligned at an angle of 48.2?(1)° with respect to the mean plane of the fused-ring system. The N atom at the 5-position is protonated and forms a N-H?N hydrogen bond to the thio-cyanate cointer-ion.

Project description:The title salt, C(12)H(24)N(+)·NCS(-), represents a monoclinic polymorph of the previously reported ortho-rhom-bic form [Khawar Rauf et al. (2008 ?). Acta Cryst. E64, o366]. Two independent formula units comprise the asymmetric unit with the major difference in their mol-ecular structures relating to the relative dispositions of the cyclo-hexyl rings [dihedral angles = 79.88?(6) and 67.72?(5)°]. Further, the independent anions form distinctive patterns of hydrogen-bonding inter-actions, i.e. 2 × N-H?N versus N-H?N and N-H?S. The resulting supra-molecular architecture is a supra-molecular chain along the c axis based on a square-wave topology.
