4-[(1-Adamant-yl)carbamo-yl]pyridinium chloride.

ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(16)H(21)N(2)O(+)·Cl(-), the amide group makes a dihedral angle of 25.9?(1)° with respect to the pyridine ring. In the crystal, inter-molecular N-H?Cl bonds and weak C-H?Cl and C-H?O contacts link the cations and the anions into layers parallel to the ac plane. The layers are packed along [010] by hydro-phobic inter-actions between adamantane units.

Project description:In the cation of the title salt, C6H7N2S(+)·SCN(-), the C=S bond is oriented trans with respect to the C-C=N fragment in the pyridine ring. The planes of the aromatic ring and the thio-amide fragment of the cation make a dihedral angle of 38.31 (4)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H⋯S and N-H⋯N, hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional network parallel to (10-1).

Project description:The title compound, C(13)H(13)N(2)O(+)·Cl(-), (1), was obtained as a colorless crystalline by-product during the synthesis of N-(2-pyridylmeth-yl)benzoyl-amine (2). The C-O bond length of 1.231 (2) Å in the benzoyl unit of (1) is slightly elongated in comparison with isolated C=O double bonds as also observed for (2) [1.237 (2) Å]. The N-C bond length of 1.345 (2) Å in the benzoic acid amide unit indicates the formation of an allylic O-C-N system and is very similar to the N-C bond lengths [1.345 (2) Å] of the pyridyl group. A further delocalization of charge from this allylic system into the phenyl fragment does not occur, which can be deduced from a characterisitc C-C single bond length of 1.499 (2) Å between these fragments. A dimer is formed via N-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. The two rings make a dihedral angle of 105.0 (2)°

Project description:In the title compound, C(6)H(6)N(5) (+)·Cl(-), the pyridinium and tetra-zole rings are essentially coplanar. The pyridine N atoms are protonated. In the crystal structure, mol-ecules are connected via N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯N and N-H⋯N hydrogen bonds into layers that are parallel to the (001) plane. There are two crystallographically independent mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit which are located on mirror planes.
