Project description:In the binuclear copper(II) title complex, [Cu2(C9H7O4)4(C2H3N)2], an inversion centre is situtated at the mid-point of the Cu-Cu bond. The Cu(II) atom together with its four coordinated O atoms are in a distorted planar square arrangement while the nitro-gen and the other Cu(II) atom are located in apical positions. The whole mol-ecule looks like a paddle-wheel. In the crystal, chains are assembled along the b axis through C-H?O hydrogen bonds and slipped ?-? inter-actions between the benzene rings of neighbouring mol-ecules [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6929?(3)?Å and slippage = 0.641?(1)?Å].

Project description:The colourless title complex, [Zn2(C10H11O5)4(C2H6OS)2], crystallizes with one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit, the other half of the mol-ecule being generated by a crystallographic inversion center. The structure shows a ?2-O:O'-bridging mode of the four 3,4,5-tri-meth-oxy-benzoate ligands finally stabilizing the two Zn(II) atoms in the dinuclear complex in a distorted square-pyramidal environment. The fifth coord-in-ation site in the apical position of the pyramid is occupied by a coordinating dimethyl sulfoxide solvent mol-ecule equally disordered over two positions.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric binuclear complex, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], the Cu atoms [Cu?Cu = 2.6375?(6)?Å] are bridged by four 4-methyl-benzoate (PMB) ligands. The four nearest O atoms around each Cu(II) ion form a distorted square-planar arrangement, and the distorted square-pyramidal coordination is completed by the pyridine N atom of the isonicotinamide (INA) ligand. Each Cu(II) ion is displaced by 0.2633?(1)?Å from the plane of the four O atoms, with an average Cu-O distance of 1.974?(2)?Å. The dihedral angles between carboxyl-ate groups and the adjacent benzene rings are 7.88?(19) and 9.68?(10)°, while the benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 85.90?(9)°. The pyridine ring is oriented at dihedral angles of 8.59?(7) and 83.89?(9)° with respect to the benzene rings. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. ?-? contacts between the benzene rings and between the pyridine and benzene rings, [centroid-centroid distances = 3.563?(2) and 3.484?(2)?Å, respectively] may further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Mo(2)(C(7)F(5)O(2))(4)(C(4)H(8)O)(2)], two independent half-mol-ecules are present, which are completed by a crystallographically imposed center of inversion between the individual Mo atoms. In each mol-ecule, four penta-fluoro-benzoate anions bridge the quadruply bonded Mo(2) (4+) unit that is, in addition, axially coordinated by two O atoms of tetra-hydro-furan (THF) mol-ecules. In the two independent mol-ecules, the mean Mo-Mo bond length is 2.110 Å. Since the THF mol-ecules are equally disordered over two sets of sites, there are four different Mo-O distances in both half-mol-ecules with an overall mean of 2.542 Å. A zigzag chain is formed by π-π stacking inter-actions between penta-fluoro-phenyl rings, indicated by a centroid-centroid distance of 3.7054 (11) Å and a centroid-to-plane distance of 3.4169 (3) Å. The extension of the unit gives a three-dimensional network structure with the THF mol-ecules located in the voids.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The asymmetric unit further contains one 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anion, one nicotinamide (NA) ligand and one coordinated and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule; all ligands are monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 7.2?(1)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 72.80?(4)°. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond links the uncoordinated water mol-ecule to one of the carboxyl-ate groups. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], contains three crystallographically independent mol-ecules with similar configurations. The Zn(II) cation is coordinated by two N atoms of two nicotinamide ligands and three O atoms from two 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anions in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In each independent mol-ecule, one Zn-O bond distance [2.5181 (12), 2.5931 (12) and 2.4085 (12) Å for the three mol-ecules] is significantly longer than the other two. In the crystal structure, extensive N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between the pyridine rings and between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7655 (9) and 3.8453 (10) Å, respectively] further stabilize the crystal structure.

Project description:In the title centrosymmetric dinuclear compound, [Cu(2)(C(8)H(7)O(2))(4)(C(8)H(8)O(2))(2)], four o-toluate anions form a cage around two Cu atoms in a syn-syn configuration. Two more o-toluic acid mol-ecules are apically bonded to the Cu atoms, which show a square-pyramidal coordination geometry. The acid H atoms are hydrogen bonded to the cage carboxyl O atoms [O⋯O = 2.660 (2) Å]. The mol-ecular packing forms a puckered pseudo-hexa-gonal close-packed layer in the (h00) plane, with soft inter-molecular H⋯H contacts (2.46-2.58 Å).

Project description:The molecule of the title compound, [Ni(4)(CH(3)O)(4)(C(8)H(7)O(3))(4)(CH(3)OH)(4)], has S(4) symmetry. Each of the four Ni(II) atoms occupies every other corner of a cube, with the alternate corners occupied by ?(3)-methano-late bridging groups linking to three Ni(II) atoms. Each Ni(II) atom is in an O(6) octa-hedral coordination environment formed by three O atoms from three ?(3)-methano-late groups, one from methanol, and two others from a bidentate 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate ligand. The Ni-O bond distances range from 2.0020?(14) to 2.0938?(14)?Å, the cis bond angles range from 81.74?(6) to 97.63°, and the trans bond angles range from 168.76?(5) to 175.22?(6)°. There are bifurcated hydrogen-bonding inter-actions between the coordinated methanol OH groups and both the phenolic and meth-oxy O atoms of an adjoining 2-formyl-6-meth-oxy-phenolate moiety. In addition, there are weak inter-molecular C-H?O inter-actions involving the meth-oxy O atoms.
