The crystal packing is stabilized by weak ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.667?(2)?Å] and inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions.

Project description:In the title compound, C(19)H(20)O(5), the pyran ring is in an envelope conformation, whereas the benzene and dihydro-pyran ring system is planar with an r.m.s. deviation of 0.0190 (1) Å. The hy-droxy group is coplanar with the attached benzene ring [r.m.s. deviation = 0.0106 (1) Å]. An intra-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bond generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into chains along the b axis by weak C-H⋯O inter-actions. These chains are stacked along the a axis. C-H⋯π and weak π-π inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance = 3.7698 (7) Å] are also observed.

Project description:The title mol-ecule, C(14)H(14)O(4), lies on a twofold rotation axis that bis-ects the central benzene ring, with only one half-mol-ecule in the asymmetric unit. The pyran-one systems adopt distorted twist- boat conformations, with the two methyl-ene C atoms displaced by 0.537 (1) and 0.163 (2) Å from the best-fit plane through the remaining five C and O atoms (r.m.s. deviation = 0.073 Å). In the crystal, bifurcated C-H⋯(O,O) hydrogen bonds link pairs of adjacent mol-ecules in an obverse fashion, stacking mol-ecules along c. These contacts are further stabilized by very weak π-π inter-actions between adjacent benzene rings with centroid-centroid distances of 4.1951 (4) Å. Additional C-H⋯O contacts link these stacks, giving a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title compound, C10H12Cl3NTe, crystallizes with two crystallographically independent mol-ecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. In each case, the coordination around the Te atom is distorted square-pyramidal, with the equatorial plane composed of the three Cl atoms and the C atom of the pyridinium ring. The Te atom is displaced from the mean-square plane by 0.1926 (7) and 0.1981 (8) Å, in mol-ecules A and B, respectivly, away from the apical C atom. The bond lengths from the Te atom to the two Cl atoms arranged trans to each other [2.5009 (7)/2.5145 (7) and 2.5184 (7)/2.5220 (8) Å in mol-ecules A and B, respectivly] are substan-ti-ally shorter than the third Te-Cl distance [2.8786 (7) and 2.8763 (7) Å in mol-ecules A and B, respectivly]. The 1,3-tellurazole ring is almost planar (r.m.s. deviations of 0.042 and 0.045 Å in mol-ecules A and B, respectivly). The cyclopentane rings in both molecules A and B adopt envelope conformations with the carbon atom opposed to the (Te)C-C(N) bond as the flap. In the crystal, mol-ecules form centrosymmetric 2 + 2 associates via Te⋯Cl inter-actions [3.3993 (7) and 3.2030 (7) Å]. As a result of these secondary inter-actions, the Te atom attains a strongly distorted 5 + 1 octa-hedral environment. Further, the 2 + 2 associates are bound by weak C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional framework.

Project description:Herein, two versatile bran-new methods have been developed for building three new kinds of complicated-framework compounds including 2,4,4-trimethyl-2-(phenylamino)-3,4-dihydro-2H,5H-pyrano[3,2-c]chromen-5-ones, 4,4,4',4'-tetramethyl-1,3,3',4,4',5-hexahydro-5'H-spiro-[benzo[b][1,4]diazepine-2,2'-pyrano[3,2-c]-chromen]-5'-ones, and 2,2,4',4'-tetramethyl-2,3,3',4'-tetrahydro-5H,5'H-spiro[benzo[b][1,4]-oxazepine-4,2'-pyrano[3,2-c]chromen]-5'-ones in a one-pot manner via four-molecule and five-molecule cascade reactions of commercially available 4-hydroxychromen-2-one, substituted anilines, and acetone. In consideration of these impressive features including no need of additional catalysts and solvents, moderate to good yields, excellent site-selectivity, and broad substrate/functional group tolerance, we believe that the two present protocols should have the potential for broad synthetic utility.
