ABSTRACT: The title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(7)O(4))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], has been synthesized by hydro-thermal methods. The Zn(II) atom, whose symmetry element is a twofold axis, is four coordinated by two O atoms from 5-meth-oxy-salicylate anions and two aqua O atoms in a distorted tetra-hedral geometry. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into a layer by O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which stabilize the packing.

Project description:The complex mol-ecule of the title compound, [Zn(C(13)H(9)N(2)O(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, has 2 symmetry with the Zn(II) cation located on a twofold rotation axis. The Zn cation is N,N'-chelated by two 5-[(pyridin-2-yl)methyl-idene-amino]-2-hy-droxy-benzoate anions and coordinated by two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. Within the anionic ligand, the pyridine ring is oriented at a dihedral angle of 49.54?(10)° with respect to the benzene ring. The carboxyl-ate group of the anionic ligand is not involved in coordination but is O-H?O hydrogen bonded to the coordinated and uncoordinated water mol-ecules. Weak inter-molecular C-H?O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Ni(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The asymmetric unit further contains one 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anion, one nicotinamide (NA) ligand and one coordinated and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule; all ligands are monodentate. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Ni(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 7.2?(1)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 72.80?(4)°. An intra-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bond links the uncoordinated water mol-ecule to one of the carboxyl-ate groups. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C6H6NO)2(H2O)2]·2[Cd(C7H5O3)2(C6H6NO)(H2O)2]·4H2O, consists of two kinds of Cd(II) complexes (A and B) and lattice water mol-ecules. In complex A, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C6H6NO)2(H2O)2], the Cd(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by two salicylate anions, two nicotinamide (NA) ligands and two water mol-ecules in a slightly distorted octa-hedral geometry. In complex B, [Cd(C7H5O3)2(C6H6NO)(H2O)2], the Cd(II) cation is coordinated by two salicylate anions, one nicotinamide (NA) ligand and two water mol-ecules in an irregular seven-coordinate geometry. There are extensive intra-molecular O-H?O and weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds as well as extensive inter-molecular O-H?O and N-H?O hydrogen bonding in the crystal structure. ?-? stacking between the pyridine and benzene rings, between the benzene rings, between the benzene and pyridine rings and between the pyridine rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.5989?(10), 3.6005?(10), 3.5800?(9) and 3.5205?(10)?Å, respectively] further stabilize the crystal structure. A weak N-H?? inter-action also occurs. One of the lattice water mol-ecules is disordered over two positions with an occupancy ratio of 0.70:0.30.

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C(7)H(2)F(3)O(3))(2)(C(10)H(8)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)], the Mn(II) ion, situated on a centre of inversion, has a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry and is coordinated by two N atoms from two 4,4'-bipyridine ligands, two O atoms from two 2,4,5-trifluoro-3-hy-droxy-benzoate ligands and two water mol-ecules. Inter-molecular O-H?N hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a chain along the a axis. Inter-actions between neighboring chains occur through O-H?O hydrogen bonds, which link the chains into a two-dimensional supra-molecular network parallel to the ac plane. In addition, O-H?O hydrogen bonds between the water mol-ecules and carboxyl-ate groups also exist in the the crystal structure.

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)], contains three crystallographically independent mol-ecules with similar configurations. The Zn(II) cation is coordinated by two N atoms of two nicotinamide ligands and three O atoms from two 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anions in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In each independent mol-ecule, one Zn-O bond distance [2.5181 (12), 2.5931 (12) and 2.4085 (12) Å for the three mol-ecules] is significantly longer than the other two. In the crystal structure, extensive N-H⋯O and C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding links the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network. π-π contacts between the pyridine rings and between the pyridine and benzene rings [centroid-centroid distances = 3.7655 (9) and 3.8453 (10) Å, respectively] further stabilize the crystal structure.

The bridging nature of the anion generates a layer motif parallel to (100). Hydrogen bonds of the N-H?O and O-H?O types exist in the structure. One H atom of the coordinated water mol-ecule and one H atom of the solvent water mol-ecule are each disordered over two positions in a 1:1 ratio.

Project description:The crystal structure of the title compound, C8H9NO3, features centrosymmetric dimers with two amide groups inter-connected by a pair of almost linear N-H?O hydrogen bonds. Through inter-molecular O-H?O inter-actions between phenolic hy-droxy groups and carbonyl O atoms, these dimers are assembled into undulating hydrogen-bonded layers parallel to the [101] plane. Additionally, the anti-H(-N) atom of the primary amide group forms an intra-molecular hydrogen bond to the O atom of the meth-oxy group. The amide group froms a dihedral angle of 12.6?(1)° with the phenyl ring.
