ABSTRACT: In the title compound, C(21)H(21)N(3)OS·C(3)H(7)NO, the carbonitrile mol-ecule is built up of two fused six-membered rings and one six-membered ring linked through a spiro C atom. The 1,3-diaza ring adopts an envelope conformation and the cyclo-hexane ring adopts a chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the aromatic rings is 46.7?(3)°. In the crystal, the components are linked by N-H?O hydrogen bonds.

The six-membered 1,3-diaza ring assumes an envelope conformation [with the flap atom displaced by 0.511?(7)?Å from the plane through the other ring atoms] and the cyclo-hexane ring displays a chair conformation. Project description:In the title compound, C16H17NO3, the coumarin moiety is essentially planar [maximum deviation from the mean plane formed by the C and O atoms of the coumarin = 0.0183?(12)?Å] and that the cyclo-hexane ring adopts the usual chair conformation. The dihedral angle between the mean plane of the coumarin residue and the plane of the amide residue (defined as the N, C and O atoms) is 18.9?(2)°. There are two intra-molecular hydrogen bonds involving the amide group. In one, the N atom acts as donor to the ketonic O atom and in the other, the amide O atom acts as acceptor of a C-H group of the coumarin. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked into inversion dimers by pairs of N-H?O contacts and these dimers are linked into pairs by weak C-H?O hydrogen bonds. The combination of these inter-actions creates a chain of rings which runs parallel to [2-10]. C-H?? and ?-? [centroid-centroid distance = 3.8654?(10)?Å] inter-actions are also observed.

Project description:The title compound, C12H10BrN5O3S2·C3H7NO, displays an almost planar amine group. The inter-planar angle between the rings is 31.72?(6)°. The residues are associated into ribbons parallel to [110] by three classical hydrogen bonds; one from each amine Hamine to ODMF and one from NHamide to Ooxo. Adjacent ribbons are connected by translation parallel to the c axis by a 'weak' hydrogen bond Hmeth-yl?Osulfon-yl to form a layer structure parallel to (1-10), while a further contact Hbromo-phen-yl?Osulfon-yl connects the residues in the third dimension.
