ABSTRACT: The title complex, [Co(C(4)H(5)O(6))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, contains a Co(II) ion, two single deprotonated tartrate anions, two coordinated water mol-ecules and two lattice water mol-ecules. The coordination geometry of the Co(II) ion is a distorted octa-hedron with two O atoms from two coordinated water mol-ecules occupying cis positions in the equatorial plane and four O atoms from two hydrogen tartrate ions occupying the remaining positions. In the crystal, inter-molecular O-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, [Co(C(5)H(4)NO(3))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the coordination polyhedron around the six-coordinate Co(II) ion is formed by two equatorial 5-methyl-isoxazole-3-carboxyl-ate ligands in an N,O(3)-bidentate fashion through the isoxazole N atom and a carboxyl-ate O atom, and by two axial water ligands. The asymmetric unit consists of half of the complex and one water mol-ecule (the full comlex being completed by application of inversion). In the crystal, the water mol-ecules participate in the formation of an intricate three-dimensional network of hydrogen bonds involving the coordinated water mol-ecule and the carboxyl-ate groups.

Project description:In the mononuclear title compound, [Co(C(8)H(7)O(3))(2)(C(6)H(6)N(2)O)(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the Co(II) ion is located on a crystallographic inversion center. The asymmetric unit is completed by one 4-meth-oxy-benzoate anion, one nicotinamide (NA) ligand and one coordinated and one uncoordinated water mol-ecule. All ligands act in a monodentate mode. The four O atoms in the equatorial plane around the Co(II) ion form a slightly distorted square-planar arrangement, while the slightly distorted octa-hedral coordination is completed by the two pyridine N atoms of the NA ligands in the axial positions. The dihedral angle between the carboxyl-ate group and the attached benzene ring is 6.47?(7)°, while the pyridine and benzene rings are oriented at a dihedral angle of 72.80?(4)°. An O-H?O hydrogen bond links the uncoordinated water mol-ecule to one of the carboxyl-ate groups. In the crystal structure, inter-molecular O-H?O, N-H?O and C-H?O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:The title complex, [Co(C(7)H(4)NO(3)S)(2)(C(2)H(6)OS)(2)(H(2)O)(2)], contains a Co(2+) cation in an octa-hedral coordination environment. The metal atom is surrounded by two different neutral ligands, namely dimethyl-sulfoxide (DMSO) and water, each coordinating through the O atom. The anionic saccharinate (sac; 1,1,3-trioxo-2,3-dihydro-1?(6),2-benzothia-zol-2-ide) ligand coordinates through the N atom. Each of the three similar ligand pairs is in a trans configuration with respect to each other. The Co atom lies on a crystallographic center of symmetry and the octa-hedral geometry is not significantly distorted. A short O-H?O hydrogen bond is present between a water H atom and the ketone O atom; two longer hydrogen bonds (intra- and inter-molecular) are also present between a water H and a sulfonic O atom, forming a supramolecular assembly through head-to-tail aggregation between adjacent complexes.

In the crystal structure, inter-molecular hydrogen bonds and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance between phenyl rings = 3.692?(2)?Å] link the mol-ecules into a supra-molecular structure.
