ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [NiCl(C(10)H(7)N(3)S)(2)(H(2)O)]NO(3), the Ni(II) ion is coordinated by four N atoms from two chelating 2-(1,3-thia-zol-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligands, one Cl atom and one water mol-ecule in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, O-H?O, N-H?O and N-H?Cl hydrogen bonds link the complex cations and nitrate anions into a three-dimensional network. ?-? inter-actions between the thia-zole and imidazole rings and between the thia-zole and benzene rings are observed [centroid-centroid distances = 3.592?(3) and 3.735?(3)?Å].

Project description:In the title compound, [Mn(C2O4)(C10H7N3S)] n , the Mn(II) cation is chelated by one 2-(1,3-thia-zol-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligand and two oxalate anions in a distorted N2O4 octa-hedral geometry. Two independent oxalate anions are located on individual inversion centers and bridge the Mn(II) cations into a polymeric chain running along [101]. Project description:In the title compound, [CoCl2(C17H13N3S)2], the Co(II) atom exhibits a distorted octa-hedral coordination geometry involving two chloride ligands, one of which is split over two positions [refined site-occupancy ratio = 0.847?(18):0.153?(18)], and four N-atom donors from two 1-benzyl-2-(1,3-thia-zol-4-yl)-1H-benzimidazole ligands. The two chelate rings including the Co(II) atom are essentially planar, the maximum deviations from the mean planes being 0.080?(2) and 0.046?(2)?Å; the dihedral angle between them is 74.1?(1)°. In both ligands, the thia-zole and benzimidazole rings are nearly coplanar, as indicated by the dihedral angles between their planes of 1.16?(8) and 6.29?(7)°. Each pendant benzene ring is almost perpendicular to the benzimidazole mol-ecule to which it is attached; the dihedral angles between their planes are 75.94?(9) and 75.55?(10)°. The crystal structure is stabilized by non-classical C-H?Cl hydrogen bonding forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title compound, C(10)H(8)N(3)S(+)·NO(3) (-)·H(2)O, one of the N atoms of the benzimidazole unit is protonated, unlike than that in the thia-zole group. This protonation leads to equalization of the bond angles at the two N atoms of the benzimidazole group. The benzimidazole and thia-zole systems are almost coplanar, forming a dihedral angle of 0.5?(2)°. In the crystal, the nitrate anion and water mol-ecule bridge the thia-bendazolium cations through N-H?O and O-H?O hydrogen bonds, leading to a supra-molecular network based on an infinite one-dimensional chain using [001] as base vector.

Project description:The benzimidazole ring in the title compound, C16H17N3O2S, is almost planar, with the greatest deviation from the mean plane being 0.032 (1) Å. The fused-ring system makes dihedral angles of 19.91 (7) and 24.51 (8)° with the best plane through each of the thia-zol-4-yl and 1,3-dioxolan-4-yl rings, respectively; the latter exhibits an envelope conformation with the methyl-ene C atom being the flap. Finally, the thia-zol-4-yl ring makes a dihedral angle of 33.85 (9)° with the 1,3-dioxolan-4-yl ring. In the crystal, mol-ecules are connected by a pair of C-H⋯π(imidazole) inter-actions to form centrosymmetric aggregates.

The metal ion is coordinated via the thia-zole nitro-gen, imine nitro-gen and thione sulfur atoms from each thio-semicarbazone ligand, and two coordinating units lie almost perpendicular to each other give dihedral angle = 81.89 (1)°]. One thio-semicarbazone unit is found to bind a chloride anion through two hydrogen bonds, while the other is linked with the disordered crystal water molecule. Two mol-ecules are connected to each other through an inter-molecular N-H⋯S inter-action, forming a centrosymmetric dimer. Dimers are linked into sheets by π-π stacking of two phenyl rings [shortest C⋯C distance = 4.041 (3) Å].
