ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Ni(C(6)H(9)N(4)S(2))Cl], the Ni atom is in a slightly distorted square-planar environment coordinated by a Cl atom and a deprotonated thio-semicarbazone ligand via its thia-zoline N, azomethine N and thiol-ate S atoms. Short inter-molecular N-H?Cl and C-H?S contacts are present in the crystal structure.

The ninhydrin and amino-thia-zolidine units make a dihedral angle of 66.41?(3)°. The crystal structure indicates the presence of equimolar R and S enanti-omers in the crystal lattice, due to the presence of a chiral centre in the title compound.

Project description:In the title compound, [Ni(C(12)H(11)N(4)S(2))(C(12)H(12)N(4)S(2))]Cl·H(2)O, the Ni(II) ion is chelated by two 2-acetyl-thia-zole-3-phenyl-thio-semicarbazone ligands, forming a distorted octa-hedral complex. The metal ion is coordinated via the thia-zole nitro-gen, imine nitro-gen and thione sulfur atoms from each thio-semicarbazone ligand, and two coordinating units lie almost perpendicular to each other give dihedral angle = 81.89 (1)°]. One thio-semicarbazone unit is found to bind a chloride anion through two hydrogen bonds, while the other is linked with the disordered crystal water molecule. Two mol-ecules are connected to each other through an inter-molecular N-H⋯S inter-action, forming a centrosymmetric dimer. Dimers are linked into sheets by π-π stacking of two phenyl rings [shortest C⋯C distance = 4.041 (3) Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, (C3H5N2S)2[SnCl6], contains one cation in a general position and one-half of the dianion situated on an inversion center. The geometry of the [SnCl6](2-) dianion is almost regular octa-hedral. In the crystal, weak N-H?Cl and N-H?S hydrogen bonds and electrostatic forces link cations and anions into a three-dimensional framework.

Polymorphism of bis-(1,3-benzo-thia-zol-2-yl) tri-thio-carbonate.

Project description:The polymorphism of the title compound, C15H8N2S5, is reported, in which the (syn,syn) and (syn,anti) conformers simultaneously crystallized from a chloro-form solution. The complete mol-ecule of the (syn,syn) form is generated by a crystallographic twofold axis. The geometries of both conformers are compared in detail, revealing no significant differences in bond lengths, despite different bond angles because of the conformational changes. Analysis of the inter-molecular inter-actions, aided by Hirshfeld surfaces, shows distinctive S?S and S?N contacts only for the (syn,anti) conformer. Aromatic ?-?-stacking inter-actions are found for both conformers, which occur for the (syn,anti) conformer between pairs of mol-ecules, but are continuous stacks in the (syn,syn) conformer. Non merohedral twinning was found for the crystal of the (syn,anti) conformer used for data collection.

The dihedral angle between the benzene and thiazole rings, which are fused to each other, is 1.2?(2)° so the overall benzothiazole system is almost planar. Project description:In the title compound, [Hg(C(12)H(11)N(4)S(2))I(C(12)H(12)N(4)S(2))], the Hg atom is in a distorted square-pyramidal coordination, defined by the iodide ligand, by the S atom of the neutral ligand in the apical position, and by the N atom of the thia-zole ring, the thio-ureido N and the S atom of the deprotonated ligand. The deprotonated ligand intra-molecularly hydrogen bonds to the thia-zole ring N atom, while the deprotonated ligand forms an inter-molecular hydrogen bond to the thiol-ate S atom. The deprotonation of the tridentate ligand and its coordination to Hg via the S atom strikingly affects the C-S bond lengths. In the free ligand, the C-S bond distance is 1.685?(7)?Å, whereas it is 1.749?(7)?Å in the deprotonated ligand. Similarly, the Hg-S bond distance is slightly longer to the neutral ligand [2.6682?(18)?Å] than to the deprotonated ligand [2.5202?(19)?Å]. The Hg-I distance is 2.7505?(8)?Å.

Project description:The title compound, {(C7H6NS)2[Sb2Cl6O]} n , contains two benzo-thia-zolidium cations and one tri-μ-chlorido-tri-chlorido-μ-oxido-di-anti-monate(III) anion. The structure of the inorganic cation may be described as as being built up from two polyhedra, i.e. a square-pyramidal SbCl4O and a distorted octa-hedral SbOCl5 unit, sharing a common face (comprising the O atom and two Cl atoms). The two benzo-thia-zole cations are quasi-planar and subtend a dihedral angle of 19.93 (5)°. The crystal packing can be described by alternating (100) layers and [001] chains of the organic cations and inorganic anions connected through an extensive three-dimensional network of N-H⋯Cl, C-H⋯O and C-H⋯Cl hydrogen bonds. This is consolidated by slipped π-π stacking, with centroid-to-centroid distances between the benzo-thia-zole rings of 3.7111 (18)-3.8452 (16) Å. These inter-actions link the mol-ecules within the layers and also link the layers together and reinforce the cohesion of the ionic structure.
