ABSTRACT: In the title coordination polymer, [PbBr(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), the Pb(II) atom is coordinated by one pyrazine N atom, two bridging Br atoms, a water mol-ecule and three carboxyl-ate O atoms. Bridging by the two anions generates a layer structure parallel to (001); the layers are linked by O-H?N and O-H?Br hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network. The lone pair is stereochemically active, resulting in a ?-dodeca-hedral coordination environment for Pb(II).

Project description:The polymeric structure of the title compound, [Pb(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), is built up from centrosymmetric [Pb(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](2) dimers, which are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb(II) ion adopts an irregular PbN(2)O(5) coordination polyhedron; it is chelated by one N,O-bidentate ligand and also bonds to a water O atom. A second N,O-bidentate ligand forms the dimer bridge and another bridging O atom from a nearby dimer also bonds to the Pb(II) ion, leading to layers propagating in (100). A network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds operates between water O atoms (donors) and carboxyl-ate O atoms (acceptors).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(3)(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(NO(3))(H(2)O)(2)](n) contains three Li(I) ions, two ligand anions, two water mol-ecules and a nitrate anion. Related by a centre of inversion, they form a centrosymmetric mol-ecular cluster in which one of the Li(I) ions shows trigonal-bipyramidal and the other two distorted tetra-hedral coordination. Li(I) ions are bridged by water O atoms and carboxyl-ate O atoms donated by one of the ligands. The clusters, bridged by two nitrato O atoms, form mol-ecular columns along [010], which are held together by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.694?(1) and 3.796?(1)?Å].

Project description:The structure of the title compound, [Li(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(H(2)O)](n), contains an Li(I) ion with a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal coordination environment involving the N and O atoms of pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands with a bridging carboxyl-ate group, and two aqua O atoms also in a bridging mode. The symmetry-related Li(I) ions bridged by a carboxyl-ate O atom and a coordinating water O atom form an Li(2)O(2) unit with an Li?Li distance of 3.052?(4)?Å, which generates mol-ecular ribbons propagating in the c-axis direction. The ribbons are held together by a network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds in which the coordinating water mol-ecules act as donors and the carboxyl-ate O atoms as acceptors.

Project description:The polymeric title compound, [Ca(C(6)H(2)N(2)O(4))(H(2)O)](n), was synthesized from pyrazine-2,3-dicarb-oxy-lic acid and calcium dichloride under hydro-thermal conditions. The Ca(2+) cation is seven-coordinated by five O atoms and one N atom of four pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anions, and one water mol-ecule. The complete deprotonated pyrazine-2,3-dicarboxyl-ate anion adopts a ?(4)-coordination mode, resulting in the formation of a three-dimensional structure.

Project description:In the layered title coordination polymer, {[Ba(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(7)](C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)}(n), the coordination geometries around the two independent Ba(II) ions can be described as bicapped square-anti-prismatic [BaNO(9)] arrangements. A two-dimensional polymeric framework with (6,3) topology can be observed in the ac plane, the nodes being provided by Ba(II) ions and the connectors being N and O atoms belonging to pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and O atoms of bridging water mol-ecules. Non-coordinating pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ions are located between the polymeric layers in the crystal and are interconnected through extensive O-H?N,O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the polymeric complex of the title compound, {[AgNi(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]NO(3)·2H(2)O}(n), the Ag(I) ion displays an angular coordination geometry with two N atoms from pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands, and the Ni(II) ion is hexa-coordinated by two O atoms from two water mol-ecules, two O and two N atoms from pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. In the crystal, the Ag(I) and Ni(II) ions lie on a mirror plane and an inversion centre, respectively. The complex chains, the nitrate ions and the uncoordinated water mol-ecules are linked together through O-H?O hydrogen bonds and weak Ag?O inter-actions [2.619?(17)-2.749?(17)?Å] into a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the title silver(I) coordination polymer, {[Ag(2)(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O}(n), the [Ag(2)(?(2)-H(2)O)(H(2)O)] cores are extended by anti-parallel 5-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate (L) ligands, forming a novel double-chain structure. Both Ag(+) cations show a distorted square-pyramidal coordination. Ag1 is bonded to two water molecules, one L N atom, one N atom and one carboxylate O atom from a neighbouring L, whereas Ag2 is surrounded by two L N atoms, two L carboxylate O atoms and one bridging water molecule. O-H?O hydrogen-bonding inter-actions involving water clusters and carboxyl-ate O atoms link the mol-ecules into a three-dimensional supra-molecular architecture, which is further consolidated by weak C-H?O inter-actions and ?-? stacking inter-actions [centroid-centroid distance 3.643?(5)?Å].
