ABSTRACT: In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)]·3H(2)O, the Zn(II) centre is five-coordinated by two O,N-bidentate Schiff base ligands and one O atom from a water mol-ecule in a slightly distorted square-pyramidal geometry. In the crystal, the complex and uncoordinated water mol-ecules are linked by O-H?O, O-H?N and C-H?O hydrogen bonds, forming a three-dimensional network.

Project description:In the layered title coordination polymer, {[Ba(2)(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(7)](C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)}(n), the coordination geometries around the two independent Ba(II) ions can be described as bicapped square-anti-prismatic [BaNO(9)] arrangements. A two-dimensional polymeric framework with (6,3) topology can be observed in the ac plane, the nodes being provided by Ba(II) ions and the connectors being N and O atoms belonging to pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands and O atoms of bridging water mol-ecules. Non-coordinating pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ions are located between the polymeric layers in the crystal and are interconnected through extensive O-H?N,O hydrogen bonding.

Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(8)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)], the Zn(II) ion is coordinated in each case by a carboxyl-ate O atom and an imidazole N atom from two different benzimidazole-2-carboxyl-ate (BIC) ligands and one water O atom in a trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. In the complex mol-ecule, the two benzimidazole planes are twisted, making a dihedral angle of 55.93?(11)°. The three-dimensional framework is organized by inter-molecular N-H?O hydrogen bonding and O-H?O inter-actions and ?-? inter-actions between adjacent benzimidazole rings [centroid-centroid distance = 3.586?(3)?Å].

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Li(3)(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(NO(3))(H(2)O)(2)](n) contains three Li(I) ions, two ligand anions, two water mol-ecules and a nitrate anion. Related by a centre of inversion, they form a centrosymmetric mol-ecular cluster in which one of the Li(I) ions shows trigonal-bipyramidal and the other two distorted tetra-hedral coordination. Li(I) ions are bridged by water O atoms and carboxyl-ate O atoms donated by one of the ligands. The clusters, bridged by two nitrato O atoms, form mol-ecular columns along [010], which are held together by O-H?O and O-H?N hydrogen bonds and ?-? inter-actions [centroid-centroid distances = 3.694?(1) and 3.796?(1)?Å].

Project description:The polymeric structure of the title compound, [Pb(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), is built up from centrosymmetric [Pb(C(5)H(3)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)](2) dimers, which are bridged by ligand carboxyl-ate O atoms. The Pb(II) ion adopts an irregular PbN(2)O(5) coordination polyhedron; it is chelated by one N,O-bidentate ligand and also bonds to a water O atom. A second N,O-bidentate ligand forms the dimer bridge and another bridging O atom from a nearby dimer also bonds to the Pb(II) ion, leading to layers propagating in (100). A network of O-H?O hydrogen bonds operates between water O atoms (donors) and carboxyl-ate O atoms (acceptors).

Project description:In the title complex, [Co(C(6)H(5)N(2)O(2))(2)(H(2)O)(2)]·2H(2)O, the coordination geometry of the Co(2+) cation is distorted octa-hedral, with two N atoms and two O atoms from two 5-methyl-pyrazine-2-carboxyl-ate ligands in the equatorial plane. The two remaining coordination sites are occupied by two water mol-ecules. In addition, there are two uncoordinated water mol-ecules in the asymmetric unit. Project description:In the title compound, [Zn(C(6)H(3)FNO(2))(2)(H(2)O)(4)]·2H(2)O, the Zn(II) atom is octa-hedrally coordinated in a ZnO(4)N(2) environment by two 3-fluoro-pyridine-4-carboxyl-ate (3-fpy4-cbx) ligands and four water mol-ecules. The [Zn(3-fpy4-cbx)(2)(H(2)O)(4)] mol-ecules form a three-dimensional network through strong O-H?O and weak O-H?F hydrogen bonds between 3-fpy4-cbx and water mol-ecules. The crystal used for data collection was a twin, with the twin law corresponding to a 180° rotation about the real-space [001] axis. The major twin fraction refined to 0.795?(1).

Project description:The asymmetric unit of the title complex, [Zn(C(10)H(6)NO(2))(2)(H(2)O)](n), consists of one quinoline-4-carboxyl-ate anion, half of a Zn(2+) cation and half of a coordinated water mol-ecule. The cation and the water O atom have crystallographically imposed inversion and twofold rotation symmetry, respectively. The metal centre displays an elongated ZnO(6) octa-hedral coordination geometry provided by the O atoms of four anions at the equatorial plane and two axial water mol-ecules. Each anion and water mol-ecule act as bridges between Zn(II) cations, forming a polymeric chain parallel to [001]. The chains are further linked into a three-dimensional framework through O-H?N hydrogen bonds.
