Adjuvant Aflibercept for Metastatic Colorectal Cancer

ABSTRACT: The main purpose of this study is to evaluate if aflibercept can reduce the chance that metastatic (spread of) colorectal cancer can grow back after finishing standard treatment. The study will also look at the side effects of aflibercept and the effect on quality of life.

Project description:We aimed at identifying the regulatory network of Aflibercept in the context of pathological neovascularization by using the oxygen-induced retinopathy mouse model as a surrogate of proliferative diabetic retinopathy Total RNA was collected from entire retinal cups dissected from mice subjected to the oxygen-induced retinopathy protocol and subsequently injected with Aflibercept either on postnatal day 13 (collection on day 14) or on postnatal day 13 and 15 (collection on day 17). Non-injected OIR littermates and age-matched mice housed in normoxic conditions were used as controls.

Proteins were identified using liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry. Then, bioinformatics was employed to investigate the functional significance of differentially expressed proteins (DEPs) and hub proteins.

Testing the PD-1 Antibody, MK3475, Given With Ziv-aflibercept in Patients With Advanced Cancer

Project description:This phase I trial studies the side effects and best dose of ziv-aflibercept when given together with pembrolizumab in treating patients with solid tumors that that may have spread from where it first started to nearby tissue, lymph nodes, or distant parts of the body (advanced). Ziv-afibercept works by decreasing blood and nutrient supply to the tumor, which may result in shrinking the tumor. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies, such as pembrolizumab, may help the body’s immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Giving ziv-aflibercept together with pembrolizumab may be a better treatment for patients with advanced solid tumors.

Ziv-Aflibercept Followed by Ziv-Aflibercept, Fluorouracil, and Leucovorin Calcium in Treating Patients With Stage IV Colorectal Cancer

Project description:This phase II trial studies how long it takes colorectal cancer resistant to standard treatment to grow while receiving treatment with ziv-aflibercept, and how well adding fluorouracil and leucovorin calcium to ziv-aflibercept works in treating patients with stage IV colorectal cancer after they progress on ziv-aflibercept alone. Ziv-aflibercept may stop the growth of colorectal cancer by blocking the formation of tumor blood vessels. Fluorouracil and leucovorin calcium are drugs used in chemotherapy. Fluorouracil works to stop the growth of tumors cells by preventing the cells from growing and dividing. Leucovorin calcium helps fluorouracil work better. Adding fluorouracil and leucovorin calcium to ziv-aflibercept may be an effective treatment for patients who progress on ziv-aflibercept alone.

Compute the Significant Interactions of Hi-C data through HOMER

Project description:Purpose: We can explain the related biological significance from the enhanced proximity in the Hi-C data. Methods: 1. Look for pairs of regions that have more Hi-C reads between them than would be expected by chance. 2.The expected number of reads is calculated using the background model. Result: We found 261,758 significant interactions from H1 cell line and 133,169 significant interactions from IMR90 cell line.
