Project description:The aim of this study is to examine the effect of NLP techniques on stoma compliance and quality of life in patients with stoma.
The study will be conducted using a prospective randomized controlled single-blind clinical trial model.
The research will consist of patients with temporary or permanent colostomy/ileostomy, who are hospitalized in Mersin City Training and Research Hospital.
Research data will be obtained with demographic questionnaire, Adjustment Scale for Individuals with Ostomy and Stoma Quality of Life Scale.
Analysis of the study data will be done through the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 package program. While evaluating the study data, frequencies (number, percentage) for categorical variables and descriptive statistics (mean, standard deviation) for numerical variables will be given.
Statistical significance in the analyzes will be interpreted at the 0.05 level.

Project description:Interventions: Practice of Circular dance moves: Intervention: It will start with an experimental group and one control group.
Experimental Group: (Sample Number 90 individuals); Intervention period: 12( twelve) weeks; frequency: 02 (twice) a week; duration: 60 (sixty minutes); Location: Reference Center in Integrative Practices (CERPIS) located at Planaltina, Federal District. Also, the potential individuals to undergo the intervention shall fulfill a questionaire for assessing quality of life perception, sociodemographic profiling, clinical evaluation and an interview.
Control Group: (Sample Number 90 individuals) The potential individuals whom shall undergo the intervention shall take part on avery aspect of the intervention except for the circular dance moves; Location: Reference Center in Integrative Practices (CERPIS) located at Planaltina, Federal District. Primary outcome(s): The primary outcome measure being considered is the intervention of the practice of dance move that will have a period of 12 intervention (twelve) weeks.
Shall be considererd, quantitative changes in the spectrum of the evaluation of perception of quality of life questionnaire (COH-QOL-OQ - City of Hope - Quality of Life Ostomy Questionnaire)), requiring a change of, at least, 5% in the values obtained prior to the intervention as well as when compared to the control group.
Study Design: Randomized controlled trial, parallel open, with two arms, cross.

Project description:To generate a high quality, annotated gene expression database of T. cruzi trypomastigotes(TRP), amastigotes (AMA), epimastigotes (EPI), and metacyclic trypomastigotes (MET). The global assessment of transcript abundances in each life-cycle stage of T. cruzi will identify stage-regulated genes and provide an essential element of an integrated database of T. cruzi genomic, proteomic, and transcriptomic data. RNAs from 3 biological replicates from a single time point in each stage will be subjected to DNA microarrays containing probes for the complete, annotated T. cruzi genome, as it is currently known. The arrays for this project will be provided by the Pathogen Functional Genomics Resource Center (PFGRC) at The Institute for Genomic Research (TIGR) sponsored by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), and will contain long oligonucleotides complementary to every annotated gene in the newly sequenced T. cruzi genome. The resulting data and analysis results will be deposited in TcruziDB (http://TcruziDB.org). Keywords: Gene expression comparisons between the four life-cycle stages of T. cruzi Six hybridizations were performed for each life-cycle stage. The hybridizations consisted of three dye-swap experiments from three independent samples (biological replicates). Project description:This study investigated the humoral and cellular immune responses in individuals with long COVID (LC) compared to age and gender matched recovered COVID-19 controls (MC) over 24-months. LC participants showed elevated spike and nucleocapsid IgG levels, higher neutralizing capacity, and increased spike- and nucleocapsid-specific CD4+ T cells, PD-1, and TIM-3 expression on CD4+ and CD8+ T cells at 3- and 8-months, but these differences did not persist at 24-months. Some LC participants had detectable IFN-γ and IFN-β, that was attributed to reinfection and antigen re-exposure. Single-cell RNA sequencing at 24-month timepoint revealed similar immune cell proportions and reconstitution of naïve T and B cell subsets in LC. No significant differences in exhaustion scores or antigen-specific T cell clones were observed. These findings suggest resolution of immune activation in LC and return to comparable immune responses between LC and MC over time. Improvement in self-reported health-related quality of life at 24-months was also evident in the majority of LC (62%). PTX3, CRP levels and platelet count were associated with improvements in health-related quality of life.

Project description:The aim is to compare functional outcome and or quality of life in patients with a stoma that was constructed as an emergency procedure with patients where a stoma was created as a planned procedure. To do this data will be retrieved from the Swedish Patient Register to identify all patients with a diagnosis of colorectal cancer and a stoma construction procedure during two previous calender years. To collect data on stoma function and quality of life a specific questionnaire will be sent to the cohort approximately within 2 years of the procedure.
