PREVENT-TAKE-UP– a prevention and early detection app for integrated breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and prostate cancer screening


ABSTRACT: Interventions: Group 1: Group A comprises 10 specialists (7 general practitioners, 1 urologist, 1 gynecologist, 1 gastroenterologist), who are first interviewed by telephone in individual qualitative interviews regarding their expectations of a prevention app for the outpatient healthcare sector. After answering the questions in the app, they also evaluate the user-friendliness of the app (SUS questionnaire) and discuss its feasibility in a focus group. Group 2: Group B includes 10 preventive care-eligible individuals between the ages of 50 and 70 who are healthy with no history of breast cancer, colorectal cancer, or prostate cancer screening in the last 5 years and are interested in screening and prevention options. After answering the questions in the app on a study smartphone, group B assesses the user-friendliness of the app (SUS questionnaire) and discusses its feasibility in a focus group. Group 3: Group C includes 150 preventive care-eligible individuals between the ages of 50 and 70 who are healthy with no history of breast cancer, colorectal cancer, or prostate cancer screening in the past 5 years and are interested in screening and prevention options. After answering the questions in the app on a study smartphone, group C assesses the user-friendliness of the app (SUS questionnaire) and also evaluates the comprehensibility of the questions and the information content of the app (evaluation form). Group 4: Group D includes people interested in using the app, who are made aware of the possibility of using the app through active promotion of the app via professional societies such as the GASTRO-Liga e.V., among others, or social media channels (facebook, instagram). Group D has the opportunity to provide anonymous feedback on the app on their own smartphone after answering the Primary outcome(s): Usability: User-friendliness of the app for the prevention of tumor diseases (by means of SUS questionnaire). Feasibility: Experiences and expectations of a new communication tool as well as its comprehensibility and acceptance (via focus group discussion).
