The analysis of mtDNA variability of the modern Polish population

ABSTRACT: The aim of the present study was to define the mtDNA variability of Polish population. For the first time, the study of Polish population was conducted on such a large number of individuals (n=5800) representing administrative units of both levels of local administration in Poland (voivodeships and counties). Furthermore, the clusters were used as an additional form of population subdivision, corresponding to geographic regions of Poland.
