Transcriptomic response of SIM-A9 microglia to neuro-probes


ABSTRACT: This study aims to elucidate the response of microglial cells to various molecular probes used in neuroscience for the detection of neurotransmission. Particularly, we aim to quantify the degree of inflammatory activation observed in these cells upon exposure to carbon nanotube catecholamine sensors. We compare these results to carboxylic acid functionalized carbon nanotubes which have previously been implicated in macrophage activation, and lipopolysaccharide as a positive control.
